Default DFW alignment shops with caster tool and experience?

Found an older thread but one of the shops mentioned (RAC in Carrollton - spoke to Hans as suggested) doesn’t have the tool. I gave him the part number and he’s going to look into getting it. Does anyone know what shops already have it and know how to do the rear caster adjustment the DSC alignment calls for?

Here is the tool (CH-47960-10):

Apparently Friendly Chevy has the tool but I'd never ever take my car there.

I was one of the ones that got mine done at RAC Performance. Why don't you just make a tool yourself , buy an angle gauge and bring it to them. literally two 1/4" studs about 2 inches long and a small square steel plate. Stuff you can easily find at any hardware store and put together with a Dremmel / drill.

That’s what you did, brought them a tool you made yourself? Have a HowTo?

Kind of surprised one of our entrepreneurial forum members hasn’t begun churning these out...

I don't recall who, but I think one of CF members has done something like that.

This issue was thoroughly addressed by Tadge. See his post here regarding alignment.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-problems.html

In it Tadge indicates all Corvette dealers have access to these specialty tools. If they don't then GM will lend the tools to the dealar and they will overnight the tools to them.

My Chevy dealer (Huffines in Plano) didn’t even do an alignment when I asked at 3K miles -they sent it out to some other shop.

In your case, tool access is not an issue as I have addressed. I believe the service advisor probably recognizes that they do not have staff technicians that have the proper training to perform this service. Does this dealer sell many Corvettes?

Yes I think they do - they always have tons of Vette on the lot. More than any other car in the area I see.

Then what's the deal there. Why can't they do an alignment. Don't they have certified Corvette techs there?

Try these guys

They did my C5 and did it correctly with my weight in the driver seat

These guys are newly in business with the latest stuff and have done several of my club guy's cars. Owner and his son run it, and son is MX5 Playboy cup multiple race winner. Nice people

No tool is needed on the Corvettes as they have eccentrics on all the caster and camber bolts.

Not sure on the C7's but all the C5 and c6's
