Default Half Mile Events in Texas?

Hey all,

Does anyone know of any standing half mile events taking place in Texas within the next 6 months or so? Been looking and haven't found much. I know they have done them in Dallas and Houston in the past...

well wannagofast was going to hold a half mile event this November but it seems to have been cancelled due to gm leasing out the strip and not allowing anyone to sublease it... that's the only one I know of

Aww, crap! That's the only one I found and planned on signing up for it. I find it crazy that in a state the size of Texas with so many fast cars half mile events (and road rallies, for that matter) are so few and car between.

Do you have any additional information on the cancellation / where I can read about it?

Would sign up, but the timing doesn't work out with my schedule. Also, the mile is a more dedicated event for high-speed, purpose-built cars. It is almost embarrassing to show up with something stock-ish to run.

it was sent to me in an email, I guess it went out to everyone who has raced with them before... I emailed Blake (the owner of wannagofast) and he said they are still trying to work things out with gm to make the race happen so hopefully they pull through

Thanks for the info. On the FB page is says registration opens on Sept 7. I will be checking back at that time and registering if it will let me.
