Default Engine builder recommendations in the DFW area

Looking to have a 500hp 454 built for my 67. Anyone have any recommendations around DFW? The few shops I have called either only do LS motors or high end 700+hp motors.

Thanks in advance.

Why not just run over to Summit Racing in Arlington and pick up a 454 crate motor, and have someone install it? You know what you are paying for and it'll be warrantied?

I have thought about that, haven’t exactly found what I’m looking for. Just curious to see what the price is on having one built. I was looking at the ZZ427 but have heard several stories of the ZZ motors using a lot of oil. Whatever I end up with I will install.

We typically do LS and LT as our main staple but Erik has done a lot of SBF, SBC, BBC engines over the years. Shoot us an email at sales@horsepower-research.com and we can do up an estimate for you or drop by the shop here in McKinney.
