Default Has Anyone Used “Austin Corvette” Lately?

I’m looking to have some engine work and maybe suspension work done on our ‘72 Coupe. I’m curious if anyone here has had work done at Austin Corvette in Austin, Tx (on N Lamar Blvd) recently? I’d say in the last year or two perhaps. I’m recovering from my 4th major back surgery, and turning wrenches is out of the question for quite awhile. So, any input, good, bad, or otherwise regarding Austin Corvette would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They have worked on my 70 a few times, and is the only shop that I trust to work on my cars. My issues were mostly AC (put all the new and rebuilt components together and charge), vacuum system issues, and some other issues.

Like most shops hops they aren’t perfect, but on the rare occasion something isn’t right; they take care of it. I have used them numerous times over the last 20 years for both my 70 and 95,and will continue to do so.

Thanks Duntov. That’s good to hear. I stopped in earlier today to “check out” the shop and meet Gary the owner. If all goes well, I’ll be taking our ‘72 in tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Thanks again.

UPDATE: we dropped off our ‘72 at Austin Corvette at 10:35 AM today (01/24/19) and got a call that she was ready shortly after 2PM. The owner, Gary Kropat, was fantastic. He clearly knows old Corvettes and has been running his shop since 1987. Our car simply needed the timing set, throttle cable adjusted, idle adjusted and a little fine tuning of the carb. The car was performing very poorly when we dropped it off and all is well now. She’s running great. I highly recommend this shop and plan to return soon for a few more little things needing attention.
