One of my buds- retired Army Colonel- rode his BMW off the twisties and down a 100 foot embankment two weeks ago tomorrow - -he'll still be in rehab in Gilbert for another week or two learning how to walk after the broken hip, spinal compression fractures and other damage- even after wearing a helmet and jacket with crash plates . . .lucky he's not dead. Bike's history . .. .

Had a great time at this “Texaco” garage. Neat little vintage antique store. In the garage the owners son is restoring a ‘66 Beetle. Great people these folks!

Hit & Run at show by show participant
I am attempting to locate Frank Hubbard of Costa Mesa, CA.
A male driver operating his blue 1975 Corvette Coupe with California registration E TKT 4H was intoxicated on 10/12/19 at 2:45pm at the Prescott Vette Set Corvette show.
In leaving the assigned backed in parking position for his vehicle across from 143 S. Cortes, the left front of his vehicle stuck the left rear of my Z06 Corvette and caused damage of approximately $1,000.00.
Six witnesses observed the driver in the drivers position strike my car. Those witnesses observed the driver remove the blue paint transfer from my vehicle with a chemical cleaner. A passenger in his vehicle was heard asking the driver if he intended to leave a note. The driver said "hell no" and backed up almost striking another Corvette. His vehicle fled s/b on Cortez.
The Prescott Vette Set club staff provided his name and e-mail address in the registration roster for the car show. The Prescott Police Department determined he is the registered owner of the 1975 Corvette.
A police report has been made. A copy of his California operators license is being requested by Prescott PD. The license image will be shown to the witnesses. If he is identified by the witnesses as the driver of the blue 1975 Corvette which caused damage to my Corvette, the case will be submitted to the city prosecutor. AZ and CA have reciprocal agreements meaning his CA operators license could be suspended and a warrant issued for his arrest.
If this person is a member here, have him contact me via PM or respond to this thread.
update: an e-mail address has been provided to me. I sent a message to Frank Hubbard on 10/13/19. I hope he does the right thing and contacts me to resolve this.

This is really bad news, sorry for your trouble with this vette owner. I was in the show and left at 2:30ish from the whiskey road side, went straight down 89 back to Phoenix.
Did not observe a C3 doing any of this, I can't believe no one tried to detain him. I assume he did this during trophy/raffle presentation.
Wish you all the best resolving this. It's losers like this that won't take responsibility for their actions drunk or sober that give clubs/vette owners a bad rap for sure.

Thats pretty unfortunate. I hope that gets worked out. Drinking and driving is stupid. I was there but parked on the other side of the square.
In other news of the day, it was a pretty fully attended show with 270+ Corvettes in attendance. Great show and lots of awesome cars.

This did occur as awards were being given out. At 1450 hrs, as I was walking back to my car on Cortez, I started the car remotely. That's when the witnesses realized I was nearby. They had just placed their note with the vehicle's CA license number on my windshield. The H&R occurred just minutes before. The witnesses tried to detain the driver/car but the driver was determined to flee. The witnesses waited with me to make the PD report.
I'll call NCM Insurance tomorrow. Finding the replacement lower bumper cover (#84139443) probably won't be easy with the GM strike. I'll call CULTRAG and hopefully Gene can locate the part in network. Damage is likely more than the $1,000 initial estimate with part, R&R, paint, etc.
If anyone at the show took images of the blue 1975 Corvette Coupe please let me know. The Prescott Vette Set may not have images posted for months.

This is the only one I could find that appears to be the rear of the car in question (to the left), as I was capturing this beautiful yellow C2. Of course, I know nothing of the incident except for that has been posted above. Plate matches up with the that post.
