Default Friday night drags

Starting THIS Friday, the Texas Motor Speedway FRIDAY NIGHT DRAGS begin. For those of you unaware, this is basically a 6 week race series where cars drag race down pit road over a distance of about 1/8 mile on a NO PREP surface. There are SEVEN classes in the series and on some Fridays there were as many as 400-500 cars participating. I know AMP and some of their customers will be participating including the AMP C7 2019 ZR1 which is currently the fastest ZR1 in the world at 8.81 in the quarter. That particular car will be in the SUPER CAR class. The big question there though is whether or not they can hook it up on the sometime sketchy pit road LOL.

Anyhow, the series is a lot of fun to watch and participate in although with racing starting around 9:15 PM, sometimes they don't get through until around midnight. More info can be found at https://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/e...y-night-drags/

Well the FRIDAY night Drags are officially over as of July 26th. Congratulations to both WES COLEMAN (2nd in Super Car) with his very popular CTSV wagon and BRYAN POMEROY (1st in Super Car) with his 2019 Black ZR1. Wes won TWO of the SIX total races and Bryan won THREE of the SIX total races. Both cars were AMP prepared (SAM MILLER).

ON a side note, the ZR1 on 18 inch tires would NOT hook up at all until third gear in WEEK ONE. With the fifteen inch mickey thompsons though, the 60 foot dramatically improved in weeks 2 thru 6. WES had the best 60 foot times of any of cars in the Super Car division with consistent 1.8 second short times. The ZR1 was a monster from mid track on. The reality was the actual track length was somewhat LESS than 1/8 of a mile.

The ZR1 was a half second faster than the next fastest car in the Super Car division. That car could have bee very competitive even in the OUTLAW class with the all out drag cars on slicks. Car has runs 8's a number of times in the quarter mile.
