I've been researching 4 post lifts on line. the makes I've found is Worth, BendPak, and Triumph. you can only get so much from their websites and was wondering what you all might have out there and share your experiences and thoughts on them. For the money it seems that Triumph has the best value including accessories in their prices where the others offer accessories for an extra cost. Just want to hear from you car lift owners before I buy.
My brother has a BendPak and I'm using it now. It's a good lift and Made in America. I've ordered a Triumph but it takes 3 weeks to get it. The Triumph is about $1500 cheaper than a Benpak and Triumph is made in China. I ask about parts availability for the Triumph and was told no problem. We'll see.
Randy, couldn't find anything about where bendpak is made although their headquarters is in california which is a foreign nation. Could only find what i have pasted below. Global manufacturing to me means china. At BendPak, we ensure each and every automotive lift or piece of shop equipment is made to exacting standards. Our process to do this is complex but ultimately results in better quality and value for you! Global manufacturing is an art and a science—and we’ve mastered both sides. It takes years of experience to build up a global network that maintains quality and timeliness. At the end of the day, it’s all about making the experience of purchasing automotive service equipment better for you.
Please let me know what you think of the Triumph when you get it in.
I purchased a Backyard Buddy from Advantage Lifts after researching many different lifts. I was told most are either fabricated or sourced through foreign sources but the Bacyard Buddy is one that is manufactured in the US. Not sure about the steel though. My needs were space which is why I chose the Backyard Buddy. It was the most compact for my tight space.
Ken, interesting, thx for the photo, somewhat scary but it works. Will check about this lift. Do you have the lift secured to the floor? I don't see any lag bolts in the floor flange. Just wondering.
I've had several 4 posts...direct lift, atlas, etc. Most lifts are made by the same places overseas. One practice I've always undertaken, is buying from a company locally that will install and tear down the lift when needed. In Vegas I got an installed price the same as you'd find online to ship it to your location. The install company gets the leverage by selling them/getting cost, then installs as needed. The benefit is they're rep is on the line, so you won't have an issue. 4 posts aren't meant to be anchored for most uses, they're able to be moved with the caster kit...it's one of the big advantages of the 4 post. Nothing to worry about being under a 4 post...pretty much the safest lift out there.
I have been using an Auto Lifters/American Lifts (out of business now) four post for over 20-years. It is very similar to a Backyard Buddy lift. It has worked flawlessly.
Can you share the name of this installer? Looking to get a 2-post in my garage.
Sorry this took me a second to see. I actually just ended up with the lift installed yesterday because the lifts were all stuck in the ports...importing from china is ALL fouled up right now because of covid and trade wars and everything else. The guys installed the lift in like 3 hrs...just got our C6 starter changed in minutes...man I missed having a lift this past year and a half...whew...
Was like 3700 installed
