We'll just got done reading all of the 6 pages and I think AA has waited long enough. You should file charges and get your $$ for the calipers back.
From your e-mails - VNM agreed to purchase a new set at his cost.
As far as coming up with funds, I find it hard to believe that Mark can't come up with 3500.00 to correct this issue. (Get a couple of credit cards and pay it that way) If you want to get something done, there are always ways to make it happen - if you really want to make it happen.
Too see someone log on and not respond is crazy. At least say that I don't have the $$$, and apologize. I will be in contact, etc and follow through on it.
Well hope it works out and nice job keeping the thread a professional way to help resolve the issue. It is nice to see that other vendors are willing to help out, even if they don't have a stake in the outcome.
Good luck.

Man this thread ticks me off in a couple of ways. 1. How can someone do this and 2., I really wanted a set of powdercoated screens and that ain't gonna happen after this. Good luck to all with your recovery.

For the first time since being a corvetteforum member I am posting a complaint. Specifically, my complaint is against Mr. Mark Dawson, Owner and President of VNM (and a corvetteforum vendor).

Over the past 8-months (this is not a typo - eight months) I have spoken with Mr. Dawson on numerous occasions. As an understanding customer I have repeatedly attempted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have also given him numerous opportunities to demonstrate a good-faith business practice. Instead what I have received (up to last month) are excuses, explanations, delays, and a credit card charge of $250 (made in August 04). During the last month, I have heard nothing as Mr. Dawson has apparently decided to ignore me. To say that I am dissatisfied with the service I have received thus far would be an understatement, however, I am making one last effort to resolve this matter informally.

As Mr. Dawson now refuse to acknowledge my phone calls, e-mails, PM's etc. I am now posting my complaint publicly, in the hopes that public awareness might assist in the resolution of this long overdue issue.

Mr. Dawson - as a final reminder, my new Wilwood calipers were mailed to you on August 18, 2004 and received by you on August 20, 2004. Per our agreement you were to powder coat my new black Wilwood calipers candy red and work was to be completed (per our agreement) and returned to my possession within 2-weeks (no later than September 3, 2004) for an install I had scheduled at MSI on September 6, 2004. Over the course of the last 7-months we have communicated through e-mail and over the phone (I have a log of every date we spoke, notes on our conversation, and a copy of each e-mail you and I have sent each other). During the course of the last 7-months (August 04 - March 05) I have heard every excuse in the book. Finally, 7-months later, on March 20, 2005 you admit that my new Wilwood calipers have been ruined and will be replaced by new "red" Wilwood calipers at your own cost. Specifically you stated:

"...The coaters have completely ruined the lettering preventing the machined look as desired. I have placed an order for a set of red ones to replace yours. I will have them in a week or so and will ship them..." (e-mail dated March 20, 2005 from Mark Dawson)

Over the course of the last month, up to, and including today you have not responded to phone calls, messages, e-mails, PM's, etc. As you have never made any effort to inform me of any updates whatsoever, I am confident that, but for, my constant barrage of phone calls, messages, e-mails, PM's etc. that I would never hear from Mr. Dawson or VNM in any way, shape, or form. In fact to this date, some 8-months and 1 day later, you have never initiated a phone call, e-mail, or any other type of communication. However, as I have now spent 30-days trying unsuccessfully to reach you, I feel as though I have exhausted every plausible option.

Put simply, my intent is to hold you to our agreement and have you replace my new black Wilwood calipers with new "red" Wilwood calipers at your own cost. Please accept this as my final attempt to resolve this issue. If this issue is not resolved to my satisfaction in a timely manner then it is my intent to file suit against you individually, as well as, V-n-M as a company.

I am hopeful that this issue can be resolved informally, however, as I have exhausted all other alternatives I will no longer accept excuses, explanations, or delays and I will not deviate from the above remedy or course of action. I look forward to the resolution of this matter.

Sincerely,
Eric Monthei
I have tried to satisfy your desires at great despair and cost to me. The new calipers have been ordered and you have talked with my supplier. All issue with customers are being diligently persued for resolution. Mark

Doesn't explain why he can get on the internet and read the forum or why he can't return phone calls. Obviously he is at work getting the messages. If his helpers were going to help him why haven't they done it sooner? Your story just doesn't go with what's been going on as some people are recving their items and others aren't.

After posting the message quoted above on Wednesday morning, I removed several 30yeardream threads soliciting new business and put him "in moderation" to prevent any new sales threads from being posted.

That would prevent him from responding in this thread, but has allowed him to monitor the Forum as well as send and receive PMs.

I have not had a response to the e-mail I sent him on Wednesday morning, but I did get an e-mail from him a few minutes ago which he asked me to post to this thread.

I'm doing so along with my response to him:

We have had a series of events from my wifes continued illness and hospitalization, vendor problems and Employee theft one right after the other. We are catching up with these inadequacies and will not cheat any of the forum members. AAs calipers were ordered several weeks ago and have not arrived, all rotor orders are being picked up tomorrow to be shipped monday next week. I have been unable to take time to look at e-mails and my employees were not doing so until this week. Please inform the forum members that I have never cheated anyone even when it cost me hundreds to make the sales. The wilwoods were ordered and AA knows from where. Since I can no longer answer the thread there is the misconception I am avoiding the issue. Please foreward a new thread to the members with info and rest assured that I am going to make this right to all ocerned. Ma!

I would like to thank several individuals for their assistance:

(1) I would like to start by thanking the corvette forum for allowing me to make this post;

(2) I would like to thank each and every corvette forum member who posted on this thread and, in doing so, kept it the focus of attention. I would like to give a special thanks to those members who assisted in keeping this thread clear, professional, and even took it upon themselves to verify facts and offer assistance;

(3) I would like to thank three vendors / owners for their support and assistance: Elite Engineering (Jeff), Exoticvettes.com (Dan), and Corvette Garage (Nate);

(4) I would like to thank the moderators of this forum for their acquiesce;

(5) I would like to thank all 4,000 + members who took the time to read this thread, even if you did not post; and

(6) Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Dawson for, in fact, ordering the new red Wilwoods, from Chris at Corvette Garage, regardless of how said order may have materialized.

Nate (owner of Corvette Garage) has assured me that the calipers will be sent directly to my address, with Mr. Dawsons approval. Having purchased four sets of rims from Nate in the past, I have no reservation in accepting his word. Thanks to all of you, this issue has officially been resolved to my satisfaction. To those of you with on-going complaints, you will have my continued support so please let me know how I may be of assistance. Moderators, please feel free to lock it down.

Sincerely,
Asphalt Animal
