Amen Joel. The last post before yours really shows a lack of class. Gee, let's not let the facts get in the way of forming an opinion.

At first glance I thought this screen was a knock-off then a WWC guy said it was a GM part.
I didn't buy it at 8 am because I was waiting to see how it was installed on the vette displayed (the GM tent, they were not ready when I went by earlier). Besides, I didn't think it would be such a limited few since this was the beginning of the whole event.

BTW, I shopped and ordered all day long, spent thousands of dollars with absolutely no problems with any vendor or person. And as for anyone thinking I am lying Let me assure you that I have better things to do with my time. It didn't ocur to me to film this, nor was I after a freebee.

I wonder how many completely satisfied customers WCC had at Carlisle?

Grumpy closed this thread yesterday in order to quell what appeared to have become a runaway bash-fest of a Forum vendor while waiting for the vendor to respond. As it turned out, the vendor was unaware of the thread because he was returning home from Carlisle.

I contacted the vendor and asked him if he wanted to respond to the accusations made against him. He did and emailed the following response to me for posting to this thread:

First let me state that myself and all others at West Coast are not in the business to rip anyone off. There have been times where problems have arisen and WCC has always done our best to take care of the problem.

As for the matter in question, a man came to me this weekend saying he was representing Complete Dreams Studio wanting a price on the Convertible Wind Break we had on display at Carlisle. He said that he had his car in the CDS booth and Michael told him to get his price on it. (Michael at CDS later confirmed he did not send anyone to WCC booth.)

I told the man the price and he said it was on a sign on the table for $300. (I had quoted him $361.) We went over and looked at the sign and it did have a price of $300, but it was not for the GM Wind Break – it was for the Vette Net C6 wind break, made by a different vendor. The picture that was on the paper was not even close to the GM Wind Break the man wanted. I told him that the price I quoted him was what he could get it for. He said that we were false advertising and a few other words. Rather than continuing to debate the false charges, I took the paper and crumpled it up and threw it away.

The Vette Net is still available for the price of $300 and the GM Wind Break version for $361. We will still honor this price.

As for the statement that I could care less about the Forum members, that is complete BS. I never said that and never will.

We have been a supporting vendor for years on this forum and give a 10% discount off of our regular price to our members. As for this type of bashing to go on, without us being able to respond, is not right. We were not near the Internet until we got back late Sunday evening to find out about this.

In closing, I believe that you should keep your post to yourself until the vendor has a chance to respond. Posting before this causes everyone to get on the bandwagon without knowing the facts. We believe in good customer relations and always do our best to work through any misunderstandings.

Forum rules/guidelines allow members to post a factual account of an unresolved dispute with another member or with a vendor. There are some stipulations in the rules designed to ensure fairness to all parties: A reasonable effort should be made to resolve the issue offline before posting the dispute; the post should stick to the facts of the dispute and not become an attack on the member or vendor involved; etc.

Here’s a link with the details:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1&forum_id=109

There are at least two sides to every dispute and Forum rules allow the member or vendor accused to respond when a post is made about a deal involving them. Unfortunately, there is a tendency among some Forum members to jump into a dispute and bash one side or another before all parties with direct knowledge of the dispute have had a chance to post their version of the facts.

That is unfair and inappropriate. It violates the rules/guidelines on unresolved disputes. It also sometimes is in conflict with the Forum’s rules on personal attacks/hostility to others:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...2&forum_id=109

There were a number of posts in this thread that were in conflict with one or both of those rules and the offending posts have been removed.

Now that all parties with direct knowledge of this dispute have had the chance to post their version of the facts, the thread is locked and will go into the archives, where it will be available for review at any time in the future.

As always, we encourage Forum members and vendors to work together offline to resolve their issues. If a pattern emerges indicating unfair treatment of others, the offending party will be removed from the Forum as has been our past practice with both vendors and members.
