Is Willcox still in business?
Three phone calls, two with return calls promised, none received, one e-mail, no response . All for core refund on power steering control valve.
Expected better.

We sent you an email over two hours ago about your core and the issue it has.
We received your core a week ago Tuesday and between me being gone and helping with the big block in the shop I forgot to tear it apart. The delay in calling you was my fault! No excuse for that, I should have given this info back to Tommy sooner, my apologies.
Wednesday I tore it apart.... and here is what I found.
I've been trying to find two parts to make it a good core and not having any luck. This isn't the worst valve I've ever seen, but it's ranking in the top 10.
1 bad piston, (has a chunk missing from the side of the outer piston). Not available anywhere.
1 bad spacer plate between the halves.. plate and outer plate are destroyed. Not available anywhere
1 bad cup scored inside replaceable with kit
1 bad slider sleeve, brass scolded to the inner housing replaceable with kit
1 bad cup plug (in the back of the housing) Not in the kit but we have some originals.
1 bad adjustment stud (no threads on the end of it) available in the 70.00 kit
It has the wrong bolts for the two halves. not a big deal
1 bad stud (bottom of stud is pitted) replaceable with the 70.00 kit.
1 missing adjustment cap. available
I've called Lone Star (the people that make the rebuild kits) to see if they would sell me a piston and a plate to work on this core. They said they would call me back and let us know later today.
Edit: Lone Star called us back and agreed to sell us the two parts we need to make this a good core. The cost of these parts plus the major over-haul kit will be deducted from the core value and the difference issued as a credit.

Communication was the issue.... When someone tells you they will call you back they should.. I compounded the issue by being gone for a few days and then concentrating on one of the cars in the shop.
I don't sit around waiting for cores that come in to be tested, but when someone tells you they'll call you back they should.. (answer in hand or not)... Carlo is 120 percent within reason because he didn't receive a faster reply... Had Tommy called him and told him what was going on it would never have been an issue.... That is may fault for not letting Tommy know what was going on so that he could let Carlo know.... it is my fault...
Carlo, my sincere apology.

Burning Brakes
How does one get in touch with him?
I wrote about a month ago on how to set up different billing and shipping address (when one is changed it changes the other with it) but never got an answer.

What I like about Willcox is that Tommy will spend time to talk to you....he is extremely knowledgeable about C3 Vettes and helps me jog my memory when speaking to him.....
Not only that but the pricing is comparable if not better than others....
I wish shipping was quicker on some things but hey....I know what it is like as I ran a Speed Shop for years....

No complaints about parts or orders from Willcox other than the fact I live within 200 miles of them and it takes forever to get my shipments, if not a drop shipment from one of the manufactures they use.
Anyway - the one single time I emailed Willcox with a Tech question, the automated answer I got back said they were too busy to answer emails and I should post my question on the forum! - What?

Willcox rules, hands down. They're one of the only vendors out there that will shoot straight with you.
I contacted Ernie a while back about some 1971 LT-1 gauges I needed calibrated/lightly restored. He informed me that they were way backed-up on gauges, and suggested another service provider for me to use (Valley Vettes).
Most would say send them, and then let you wait. And wait.
VVs did me good, and quick.
