Default Experience with RPIdesigns

Good afternoon vette owners!

Id like to take a moment to share my personal experience with RPI designs, a popular vendor on this forum. I have read mixed reviews: some good, some bad. On September 7th, I decided to order targa top weatherstripping, as my 98’s original had begun to leak. I immediately got an email saying my order was successful and processing, and would be shipped out soon. Fast forward to September 19th, I still had no confirmation that the order had been shipped. 2 weeks to ship out an order? A bit long in my opinion. Continuing on, I emailed customer service to find out what was going on with my order. I got a reply that it would be shipping out that day. Okay, this works for me. 2 days later, still no shipping confirmation. So, I then sent out another email wondering why I still had no confirmation that my order had been shipped. I then received an email from Lana, who responded with the tracking number. That’s it. No apology for the excessive delay, just the number of the tracking info that it had been shipped out on the 21st. IMO, this is VERY poor customer service. RPI designs has lost a customer. I hope those of you that continue to support them have better experiences than mine.

Good of day to everyone, and I hope all of your corvettes and shining bright and turning heads!

-Mike

Usually I believe the moderators will move discussion like these to this location: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-feedback-153/.
This is probably what 8VETTE7 was referencing.
Still disappointing to hear about your experience, though.

Oops - he beat me to it.

I ordered an item from them this month. After 10 days I called them and they informed me it was being shipped out that day. It arrived about 3 days later. The item appeared used/returned. It was dirty and worn in places and looked repackaged. To top it off it doesn't fit correctly.

Rather than waste more of my time sending it back, discussing it on the phone with them etc. I decided to just cut my losses and let the matter go. Life is too short and fleeting to waste on this kind of aggravation.
I briefly considered posting about it here, but didn't as I hoped it was just an abberation.
I guess it wasn't, hence my mentioning it here.

I ordered a product from them 9/10 and had not received it so I PM'ed them here today and got a response that the supplier for the part I ordered is in Florida and has been affected by the hurricane so I cut them some slack.

Thanks for posting. Vendors with continuous bad negative feedback should not be allowed to be part of this forum.

Just want to jump in here and apologize for the delay and explain. I have been working with the customer Mike when he called me to let me know that the two sides were not the same size. (I have been doing this for a very long time and I think there has to be an understanding that with a lot of Corvette parts there sometimes will be a delay because it is a specialty car. There are a lot of manufacturers that do not have certain parts in stock or they may have small quantities on the shelf.) The order was placed right away with the manufacture and the delay was on their end. When I spoke with them when this customer brought to my attention the difference in length I got them to send another one out and it was shipped in two days so the customer could get it before it was about to rain that weekend. At that point, they told me they were running short on them because they have been popular which would explain the delay. They personally inspected the second weatherstrip before shipping and still do not understand how it could be the wrong size. I know the customer needed to get this part and I helped him as much as I could but not at any point did he say he was not unhappy that he was going to post his unsatisfaction here on the message board.

Vendor has responded and according to TF rules the thread will be closed.

If an additional resolution arises, please contact me and I will add it to the thread.
