My Dealership experience
I noticed some members were discussing dealership problems. So i decided to tell and show you mine,
It happened on September 12, 2017 at MacMulkin Chevrolet. The following picture shows the results of an oil change after 24 hours.
The cause was a loose oil filter. It was ready to fall off. They admitted it was caused by them. I will not discuss it any further.
Lets just say I will not be bringing my car in for any type of service at their dealership. Also, because of the circumstance above, they have lost a Corvette customer.

It's just mind boggling that something like that could happen.
I mean how difficult is it to properly screw on an oil filter and
the repercussions of not doing it correctly.

The filter has to be cranked on or they will vibrate off - noticed first oil change after GM build the mechanic had the hardest time getting it off when he did it was a mess so it was cranked on from factory - he put new filter on next day I smelled oil
Went right back and told them to crank it on this time problem solved
Moral of the story yes usually you wouldnt horse an oil filter on but with a C7 seems it really has to be cranked on more than usual due to the vibration these cars create

By "Crank on" do you mean tighten with a tool?

To the OP, sorry you had to deal with this. Kind of gut wrenching to see that happen. Hope that not much of the oil leaked until you got home and most of the leaking was when the engine was off.

The new "Tempest" aircraft oil filter is pre-lubed. Hand tight only!!
"""Spin-EZ™ Solid Lubricant – Tempest Spin-EZ oil filter's proprietary solid lubricant allows for easy removal of the filter. Unlike oil, grease or DC4 compound that leave the filter seemingly "bonded" to the engines mount pad, making it nearly impossible to remove, our Spin-EZ solid lubricant wont extrude or squirt out from under the seal; allowing for removal without a fight."""

Had tighten only; if anything they seem to tighten over time not loosen.
I can't imagine the C7 could be different from every other oil filter I have experenced
over my lifetime.

Everyone's free to choose, you guys do what you want, but unless I leased my Corvette and absolutely could care less about it, GM can keep its free oil changes along with the subpar blend crap they're going to overfill my car with. Trusting a jr oil change tech who spends his days watching the clock to strike 4:59pm? Ya, no thanks

did you send them a bill for new oil, filter, dri-sweep etc? did they refund your money?

It's especially difficult when the tech is trying to install the filter while at the same time surfing Facebook to see what his buddies are doing tonight after work...or it's possible that the tech simply walks around with his head up is ***...

The haphazard non-double checking their work nature of service departments everywhere has me now checking everything under the running engine, and under the hood when picking up my vehicles after their being serviced.
Just this afternoon, I picked up my Ford Super Duty E450 7.3 liter V8 Powerstroke diesel from a Ford dealer in Memphis, Tennessee. The air filter assembly's 12V sensor plug electrical plug was unplugged upon picking up my truck. I now check all around my vehicles for collateral damages and shoddy workmanship, as well as body damages and upholstery/carpet soiling.
You need to do walk arounds, popping the hood before leaving service facilities. Leave your vehicle running as you inspect the engine compartment and underneath for fluid leaking/leakage.
