Default Dennis / DoubleD Mods

Does anybody know how to contact Dennis of DoubleD Mods? His phone number has been disconnected and he does not respond to e-mail inquiries. I made a big purchase (DoubleDIN panel, top-of-the-line Kenwood, and various additional adapters and parts). Dennis has one more obligation to fulfill in order to complete our deal, but has seemingly disappeared.

I have been trying to contact, but will not answer and won't return parts I sent. This is really frustrating. It will cost hundreds to replace them.

It looks like he dropped the corvette part of his business. If you go to the transactions/feedback forum on here you can read all about it. I hate to say it but you may be SOL on that front.

Dennis' last communication with me was an unprovoked hostile e-mail in late July. In it he also mentioned that his mother had just passed away.

I suspect Dennis suffered a nervous breakdown from the pressures of his business coupled with the loss of his mother. Still that does not excuse him, or his wife, for not completing orders to the extent that DoubleD has inventory, or processing refunds (as it still owes to me).

I agree with another poster here that Dennis will self-destruct his Jeep line of business in short order. I just two pages of YELP reviews. 90%+ are harshly negative.

It is never fun to have been ripped off by a (formerly) trusted vendor who held money belonging to a customer such as myself. Like those of you in the same boat, I feel violated. Thank goodness I received my double-din bezel, Kenwood head unit, Metra harness and Sirius/XM module that I paid him for. In case anyone is interested in my particular beef, Dennis still owes me about 75% of our agreed-upon amount for me having shipped to him my OEM bezel. He provided a partial refund during the summer, after several months of me begging.

And he owes many of us here an apology for his unprofessional business behavior, and unwarranted hostility.

Contact your credit card. They have good buyer protection.

Very true, Prosecutor. But this particular sale occurred far enough in the past that the credit card issuer's make-whole policy for this transaction has expired.

Everyone knows that Dennis collected money up front and provided goods many months later. Now we know the reason why.

Nevertheless, to be complete, I will contact my credit card issuer about this, and see what they say. I expect their reply to be identical to that of 02BlownZ06 (#4, above).

I had the same issue wit Dennis. After ordering late in June, he sent me my bezel 2 speakers and some assorted wiring and mounting adapters. He shorted me the head unit, amp, front speakers, amp, subwoofer and sub box. The really frustrating thing was, literally within minutes of me emailing him that I had filed a dispute with my cc company he responded. He acted like he couldn’t believe I had done such a thing. Luckily my cc company had my back and reimbursed me for the items I didn’t get. If you haven’t contacted your card company do so ASAP!

I spoke to Dennis two months ago, he changed his number and said that he no longer will deal with Corvette requests because the owners complain too much. He will only focus on his Jeep business (he has not closed his business). I asked that he return the parts I sent for modification, last year. Since that time he has not returned them and no longer answers my calls. I had to buy new parts ($400). His number is 608 778 1851, but he clearly has decided to give past Corvette customers the middle finger. Good Luck

Sad the way he ended that business by burning a lot of bridges. I would have at least tried to fulfill existing orders or issued refunds.

I didn’t understand his online business model. He basically bundled everything like crutchfield, but more expensive.

While overseas I ordered his C6 4 speakers for doors and rear and subbox w sub/amp combo, and Kenwood HU. I just returned back from overseas. I opened my package and the only thing that was there is the sub box and sub speaker! Flip up door hinges busted on box! Missing everything else! Called his number and it's disconnected! Went online and see he has email contact only! I read all the horrible things online while I was gone! He has not returned my emails! I so DISAPPOINTED! I had flawless dealings with him in the past!

he preyed on older people who enjoyed working one on one with someone. the red flag i saw was a couple years ago when a thread was up, someone had a question. he started going back and forth. the guy mentions having some of the gear already and local stores having other stuff for less. guy had a couple more questions

dennis's reply was: why would i help you if you're not paying me

he saw people as dollar signs and these stories are too common on car forums. not sure why they attract predatory vendors.

Trust me guys...there are other vendors that don't have any integrity on this forum...but this forum does not have a rating system for vendors ...buyers....or sellers

I was observing the same attitude and reactions around 3 years ago, despite my comments in contradiction folks kept endorsing him... it’s like sheep to a slaughter. Perhaps there is someone here (and there are lots) who has been burned by him and will go after him with a vengeance. But that would require work and effort of folks here, not talk and rhetoric, something not seen so much around here
