When you try to help someone else and it backfires..
So I was in the market for a Tony Mamo ported throttle body. Did a search here on for info about the Mamo. There happened to be one in the for sale section that was not much cheaper than new, but I agreed to purchase it if there was nothing wrong with it and like new condition to help out another member. Its not like its a wear item so figured it wouldn't hurt. After opening up package when it arrived I noticed right away that it was spray painted black(terrible job including overspray inside). Paint was peeling off everywhere, just a terrible looking part that would never go under the hood of my car. Contacted seller, got no answer? Why would I expect one right? If you are that big of a DB to send out a horribly painted part that you just pulled off your car(cant even imagine what his car looks like up close) why respond? To make matters worse, it is not even a Mamo ported throttle body, it is a Katech(nothing against Katech) but I could have bought a Katech brand new for 30.00$ less than what I paid for this paperweight. There was not pictures posted(My bad for trusting a 10+ year member here on his word). This member has multiple items for sale now, so my advice is get pictures of actual item and dont trust that just because they are a long time member and post ***** them selves a lot that they are trustworthy.

Post up the sellers information so no one else will have an issue...and just because he's a POS I'd take him to small claims court

You seem to know how to post---why no name, or at least a user name on CF? And, before this gets moved to the seldom-seen, Transactions section, it would be nice for others to go look at his "ads" on CF for parts being sold.
C'mon, help some folks out so they don't get stuck as well. Unless this is some kind of a joke thread (which I hope this isn't)....

Having been a moderator on other forums, when issues like this occurred we gave the seller to opportunity to make it right. If they refused, we banned them either from selling on the forum or banned them completely. In may cases, it becomes a he said - he said so an outright ban was seldom used, but if more than one member was taken advantage of, the seller was gone. Additionally, many of the other forums Be they cars, fishing tackle, etc, get wind and are notified (many of our moderators were also members on other similar forums) and information like this is freely shared resulting in similar action being taken against the offender.
