Default Corvettemods strikes again?

So...
I ordered a C6 Centennial Steering wheel about 1 month ago from Corvettemods.com
I wish I'd searched more on this vendor; their website looks legit, but I'm guessing it stops there.
I am told via email they don't have the part in stock but can source it from another distributor for an additional $42.99.
Here's the replacement wheel I received a month later:

Amazing, not what I ordered; I call customer service which is routed through a center in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh only to be told that I'd get an email within 48 hours.
I am still waiting to receive any correspondence and this is now several days ago.
I'm hoping to get my 347.97 back, if not I'll just have this snarky smear thread to console me.

I will never buy from this company again and hopefully can encourage others to do the same.

If you've had a negative experience with them, please share as I am sure that others would love to commiserate.

RL

How did you pay? As long as you didn't show up in person with cash, you likely have some recourse such as disputing the charge with your CC company or paypal if you went that route.

Ouch....looks like a salvage yard pull from a 2008.

I got a 2012+ wheel in 4 days for $220 from an online GM dealer. Yellow stitching...no rust.

advertising products that will "ship next week", though said products have not left the factory in Asia is not just a Corvette Mods issue, as the same thing has happened with current/other vendors here. Some not only collect the full price of the product they don't have in stock, but they don't even notify you the product is in stock until you start hounding them for a status update. If you don't keep hounding them for an update, you won't get an update. And the real bitch is, all the while they continue to sell product they do not have in stock and collect full payment from customers, most of are forum vendors. It's good that Corvette Mods lost their vendor status, but those that run this forum ought to protect the forum membership and fellow Vette owners by holding these other vendors that spam our forums (usually the wrong forum at that) accountable for their shady business practice. But no, collecting revenue from the vendors seems to be THE priority. Sad.

Wish I had a dollar for every "I Got Screwed By CorvetteMods" thread. Good luck OP. You may have a long battle ahead.

When I buy Corvette parts/accessories I look to see if the vendor is a supporting forum vendor. Early on I bought parts from Corvette Mods and was dissatisfied. After a number of forum complaints they were no longer a supporting vendor. I'm not sure what else the forum can do.
BTW, here's something you can do: become a supporting forum member. Just sayin...

You will not get your money back from Corvette Mods so contact your CC immediately.

Default They got me too

I ordered a stage 3 wickerbill. It took forever to get here because they are just a drop shipper from what I understand. I take out the first side piece and immediately notice that it does not have the drilled holes on the side. Also it did not come with double stick tape. I go to put the drivers side on and the corner doesn’t fit. Then I fucked up and tried to drill a hole in the side by lining up the old original piece. This looks to be some Chinese bullshit. 😡

Ii I just ordered the stage 2.5 from ACS composites.

All we can do is call out any vendor that does not live up to their promises

I just bought my first corvette and didn’t know this forum existed. I did a search for corvette parts and that is the first site that pops up. It looks legit from their site. They must pay google to be the top of internet searches for corvette. I got bamboozled. Live and learn. Expensive mistake. 😡

You didn't answer how you paid them. If you used Paypal open a dispute, if you used a credit card, dispute the charge. Have a picture of what you ordered and take a picture of what you received. As soon as they receive the dispute, trust me they will contact you.

If you paid using PayPal you'll get your money back no problem. One of my companies does several thousand transactions a year using PayPal and if there is a problem they always side with the buyer. The dispute process is super simple.

If you paid with a CC you'll probably still get your money back, but you have to jump through a couple hoops.
