Vendors who my Restored 1965 Vette Convertible
Just wanted to share this to anyone needing to restore a vehicle.
I have a 1965 Corvette (327 365hp Small Block, L76 engine, Nassau Blue Convertible) fully restored by:
Body: Completely Nuts- Dick Pruitt in Clackamas, OR. Great guy and I highly recommend him.
Engine: Paulo Engine in Oregon City, OR - Roy. Did an excellent job.
Interior: Jim's Upholstery-Milwaukie, OR also did a great job installing all new interior.
Glass: A Horror Story! I was recommended to go to Auto Glass Past & Present Vancouver, WA. I was told that the Dad was the best in the area and now his son is handling the company. They said he’s a little slow because he takes on too many jobs. It’s a 1 man show, like his father. His name is Kevin Batley. He did do a good job, I'll give him that. But I would not reccommend him to ANYONE............read on.
I brought him my car in early April 2018 and he finished it to pick up on December 14,2018. That’s 8 monthsto put in a windshield, 2 Fly windows and the 2 main door windows.
He charged me:
Parts $1,125
Labor $5,670 For 72 hours @ $80.00 p/hour
Total: $6,795
I supplied most of the parts and all of the glass.
I just wanted to advise who I used to restore my vette and give you info you can use. I was happy with all of them……except the Glass guy. I feel I was ripped off by this one.
Thanks for hearing me out,

Moving to Transaction Feedback.

It seems to me that costs should be discussed beforehand. I know that sometimes things popup but with glass here's really very little that could cause unexpected costs.

I did just that prior to bringing it to him. He said that he would not know until it was complete. I would now trust this guy as far as I could throw his garage.............I posted this to warn any others of the guy.

I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t pay that bill.
