red90,
That's cool. If I had know that they offered the polished wheels, I probably would have ordered those instead of the chrome. But anyway, I still love the look of the 17" wheels over the stock 16" wheels. Plus the Dunlops ride much better than the Goodyears.

Chris, Your car looks so great with those polished aluminum wheels!! That is one of the main reasons I decided to go the AFS route. I have heard nothing negative about the polished wheels. It seems there are just a few negative comments about chrome quality. By the way..did the center caps they sent you have the corvette symbol? and...Do you just polish them with the mothers cloth or similar stuff? I may have to wait out the holidays before I order them..We'll see. Thanks, Skip

Here's some answers:

The wheels are polished and not clearcoated. I use Mothers Aluminum Wheel Polish (in the small round white jar) for starters. Then I follow with Zaino Bros Z1/Z2/Z6 treatment. I usually apply Z6 every time I wash the car and several times between washes. I do full Mother's/Zaino Bros thing about 2-3 times a year.

The center caps came with the Corvette emblems, but they are the stick on kind and I had to stick them on. Clean the center cap real good with rubbing alcohol before applying.

Thanks for the info Chris. Where did you get the stick on logos. Did ASF have them or did you get them from Ecklers or Mid am? Thanks. Skip

FYI. I love my AFS wheels, and I am pickey to the max. My Silver wheels look great handle great and the tires are quiet. Quite an improvement over the 16" wheels that were on my 85.

Also if some peoeple are lookin at imperfections on another persons wheels please remembe that the peoepl at AFS will sell "blems" if you want to spend less mopney. Maybe the wheels you looked at and seemed less than perfect are "blemished".

ld85,
I had the same comments that you did. I love mine too. Great looks and handling! The price wasn't too bad either. I shopped around for months for a set of wheels. Most are too expensive for my budget. AFS is a good choice. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Don't have it with me cause I'm at work. If you got a copy of Vette or Corvette Fever handy, just look towards the back for the ad. Hope this helps.

So, I know they are pretty cheap, but does anyone want to go in on a GP? You think they would go for it? Maybe get 5-10 people together??
What do you think?
