I'm considering putting a set of these on my 86. They rated real well in tests but would like to hear from some of you if you've used them. The tread width is only 8.1 as coompared to Dunlop or goodyear which are around 9.6 wide. Will the Firestones look wimpy on my 86? Any durability problems with these. I'm Also thinking about the Dunlop SP8000. All suggestions welcome. Thanks!

I had them on my 93 Coupe. I like them. They were very good in wet weather. Less noise then the Goodyear GSC and Gatorbacks I had before. They have a cool looking tire tread pattern also. And they wear better than the GSC's. I have never tried the SP8000 so no comment on those.

i also have a set of EP's...u cant beat the 340 treadwear for a High Preformance tire....and like the above post...awesome... in wet weather, most people dont like the looks because of the rim protector on the tire.

I have 4K on my Stones. So far, so good. The longer I have them, the better I like them. Quiet, good ride, traction seems quite good.

In the RFT segment, the best bang for the dollar IHMO!

I have them on my 87 with the 16x9.5
They run fine out here, also quieter than the goodyears.

I have 20,000 miles on a set of Stones I bought last September. They look about half worn. They are 75% quieter than the Goodyears and look great. They really excell in the rain. I have cruised at 120 in heavy rain and the car was stable as a rock. No hydroplaning and no squirming. Buy them, you'll like them.
