I recently purchased a '87 Vette. ( And I am turning 40 soon. Wonder what THATS all about? )

ANYWAY, I didnt care for the stock wheels that came with the car. 16-9 1/2. So, I purchased a set of 91-96 "Buzzsaws", and bought new rubber. Got 'em all mounted up, and they fit, but it's way to close for my comfort. One big pothole, and they are gonna hit/rub, possibly destroying a tire, ( Or two ) in the process.

I was told by Mid-America, I didnt need adaptors for this swap. Was I misinformed here?

Like I say, they do NOT hit right now, sitting in the drive, but I am petrified of driving it, for fear of damage to rubber and or rim.

Please, advise,,,,,

Thanks all, Thomas

Welcome to the Forum.......
Call around some-more.....I think you need "spacer's" for that "swap" .......also was the car "lowered".......the other thing is that 91-96 wheels are NOT the same......89 to 92 the wheels were 17x9.5 with 275 tires on all four corners in 1993 to 1996 the wheels were 17x9.5 rear and 17.8.5 front....because they ran 255 tires front and 285 tires on the rear.....what size tires did you mount on the wheels??

275/40-17's all round. The car hasnt been lowered at all. It did come with 16 9.5 tires. I bought the wheels, and mounted the 275's,,,,,,,,,,,,

Are the adaptors the answer here?

Thanks for your help!

Check into the back spacing, too. The offset might be different on your new rims.
