Default Entry level tire qualty

I am considering buying a set of new replica wheels that come with Nexen N3000 tires. Sizes are 245 45 17 and 275 40 17.
How is the quality of these tires? I can only afford an entry level tire.
The seller also has Nitto, Sunitrac, Accelera and Achilles.
Any of these brands stand out as being better?

What kind of Corvette are you driving?

Instead of replica wheels, use the money for a bit better tire? You can get better tires (made somewhere other than China) for not too much more.

That's my advice to you. Check the Tire Rack, Discount Tire Direct or any other reputable online tire sales. I got wheels and tires from one of the above for my Cadillac ATS4 for not much difference in price than Car ID, and I got Kumho's, which are far better than the Nexen and Achilles or Accelera.

I, too, would suggest better tires to start with, and different wheels at a later date. Good tires insure your safety.

Nitto is a very well known brand, don't know about Achilles or Accelera. As far as Nexen I can't speak for the N3000, but I've got the Roadian HPs on my truck and they've been great tires.

I'll necro this thread as I noticed my C6 was fitted with Accelera tires (PHI-R front, PHI-2 rear) and used that fact to knock the dealer down a $1000 on the car for the 'Walmart tires.' These are about $110 each!

On inspection, now the car is mine, I notice they have treadwear ratings of 400 (front) and 420 (rear) which I guess means 'hard' lol. Traction and Temp ratings are both AA or A, so the DOT had no issues with them I guess.

They have 6mm left on them so it might be a while before I get to try a better tire. Anyway, if you are short of cash (or just about to trade the car in) pop down to Walmart for some new boots

I have run several sets of these on my trucks over the years. They have been great tires. Good wear and very quiet. I was told they were made on Michelin equipment. Not sure how true that is. Great tires regardless.
