Help me decide on new tires stock or 255/40/18 295/35/19
Need new rubber . ( maybe wheels also)
I now have a 2008 C6 auto. ?
Should I stick with stock size or
are the 255/40/18 295/35/19 a better tire combo for a LS3 auto. pros and cons please.
Sorry for the kind of repeat post but did not get much info out of my last one.
And did not get a lot on search.
Lot of $$$ on super sports I want to get it right the first time.

Bigger should be more friendly to saving your wheels . (Road rash)
Not sure on performance gains or losses .
Please chime in .
$1500 for rubber what to make best decision .

Advanced
It would be slightly taller, effectively lowering your gearing, and make you a tiny bit slower. Probably unnoticeable though.
The change is so minor that I wouldn't bother unless the tires are cheaper than stock size or unavailable in the stock size. For example, I have noticed some tires unavailable in 285, like nitto drag radials.

Thanks guys but that said
? Stick with stock over the 255 / 295 combo .They are $200 cheaper .
And will not lose gearing .

Ok ordered new 2014 oem 5 spoke chrome wheels (stock size 18/19" )
Still on the fence on which tire size to go with for my c6
? Stick with stock or go bigger 255/40/18 295/35/19 for a LS3 auto.
Will the wider tire help protect my new wheels from curbs .
Will the taller tire kill my gearing over stock .
