Pilot Super Sports After Parade Laps
Last week, about 500 miles before these pictures were taken, I did a couple of parade laps at Barber during their Historics weekend. Are my tires trashed? Does the molten rubber come from my tires, or did I pick it up off the track?
The tires have about 6500 miles on them, total.
Many thanks.

I used to "mess around" with an oval track car, back in the 80s. The tread compound on those tires was soft enough, that the heat generated while on the track, combined with the constant left turns, would indeed "move" the worn rubber to the left edges of the tires. I don't believe, however, that a street tire has a compound that's soft enough to do that. Secondly, in your picture, the "excess rubber" appears to be "stuck on" to your tires.
I agree with "Tomswheels", and that's "race rubber" from other's tires, that has stuck itself to yours.
