Carbon fiber wheels are becoming popular in the aftermarket, but are they worth it?

ALl i can add is that when i dropped 25 lbs of unsprung weight on my c5 z51 the ride and handling improved dramatically from a feel perspective. The whole car felt it shrunk dramatically.

although the cost of carbon fiber wheels is ridiculous the bemefit is dramatic. Ford manages to make carbon fiber wheels available on the gt350 R as part of a ten thousand dollar track package option over and above the base gt350 and includes coolers, heavy duty suspension and other items in addition to the carbon fiber wheels.

if gm offered carbon fiber wheels as part of the c8 option pack as well as cooler and heavy duty suspension for ten grand i would consider the option.

the aftermarket piece per wheel discussed in this article are too expensive and I would not spend the extra money.
