Brake Fluid That Wont Hurt Paint or Powder ????
Ive damaged the finish on ONE of My Aftermarket Clear Powder Coated Wheel (Barrell Area)
Is there a DOT??? Brake Fluid I can covert my 2012 Grand Sport Over Too ???
From DOT3 to DOT ?????
Is Mositure the problem going forward and so how often
would I have to change fluid in the Future
My car is a Good Weather Garage Queen

Burning Brakes
All DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 brake fluids will soften and damage paint/powder coated objects if spilled on them and not immediately cleaned off. DOT 5 is silicone based and won't hurt paint/powder coated areas. However DOT 5 is NOT recommended for any Vette with an ABS system. It tends to trap tiny air bubbles that expand with heat and contract under brake line pressure giving a soggy brake feel. My personal experience with DOT 5 in my C3 Vettes (which had cast iron calipers) was mixed. Okay for normal driving, but marginal for auto-x and mountain driving. YMMV. Hope this helps.
