Replica Z06 wheels on Ebay as light as the real thing?
Has any one purchased a set of the Z06 wheels on ebay? How do they stand up to the OEM wheels? I am looking for another set of Z06 wheels for the track, are the Ebay models track worthy?

Ryan,
I have a set on my 92 18x10.5 and 17x9.5 that I use for the track. At present time I only have 15 laps on them as I had other problems that day.
Other Forum members will say to stay away but my experience so far is good. Also the finish is perfect.

Why would the other forum members tell me to stay away? All i'm really concerned about is the structural rigity, not the finish..

When I called O. E. WHEEL DISTRIBUTORS and asked the weight question, they could not give me a straight answer so I decided not to buy from them. AFS used to advertise their polished aluminum 18x9.5 wheels at 21 lbs, but the problem is that if they are now using a different manufacturer this may no longer be an accurate weight.
My recomendation is to wait and pick up an OEM set. Since you want them for the track you should be able to pick something up in the $500-600 range with some curb rash. I picked up a mint set from an '04 on eBay for $725 so be on the lookout and good luck.

Ryan,
My rims are stamped that they are rated @1400 lbs. And I just added that the finished was good just to let you know. The stock rims are also rated @1400 lbs. As far as the weight goes-that I don't know.

I just bought a set of polished ZO6 wheels from Bob's House of Wheels they are supposed to weigh 26 and 30 pounds - no idea what my stock 02 wheels weigh. I am pretty sure they are not OEM - but they have to be licensed (come with Z16 centercaps). Road course track tires for ZO6 wheels seem to be limited (hoosiers and Kumhos). It seems I need three sets of wheels or so to be ready for all street and track conditions.

I weighed the polished wheels I got from Bobs House of Wheels - they are 21 for the front and 23 for the back. So they are a little heavier than stock. I will be putting "street" tires on these and track tires on my original wheels....

These are OEM Z06 wheels and tires with 750 miles on them.
Fronts - 42 lbs ea. Rears - 46 lbs ea.
They were replaced with a set of CCW anodized streets with Pilot Sports which weighed out on the same scale as:
Fronts - 18X10 wheels - 275/35 tires = 49 lbs ea.
Rears - 18X11.5 wheels + 335/30 tires = 54 lbs ea.
That comes to a total unsprung weight difference of 32 lbs!
Gulp!
