mechanic advised of a leaking front left shock. does this look concerning? if so who soon should I get it replaced? also could this cause the squealing im getting despite replacing my front pads and rotors with powerstops. thanks
I recommend wiping them down and checking again after a few weeks of driving. But at a quick glance, the wetness on the boot looks concerning. Does the car drive OK?

I believe its FINE. Wipe it down and check 500 miles later. These are mag ride shocks and will seep fluid, which is normal and they can last 50,000 miles with that slight seepage.
Shock would NOT cause a squealing but control arm bushings can cause a squeak when moving.

looks like a leaking shock and that i think is a mag ride? normally you replace shocks in pairs or imo do all 4. not sure if those can be rebuilt or if they are still available. i know you can tune it out and convert to a standard shock if need be. you'll need the year of the car and confirm it's mag ride to check inventory. do you have the center dial on the center console by the traction control button?
