Roll-up window weatherstrip replacement 1965 Corvette coupe
I noticed the window channel was rolled over at the top of the drivers window so I ordered a set of new weatherstrips. The parts come as a set and I went through all four trying to replace them. Most of the problems were the metal beads coming loose at the top. I am now looking at my second set and when I took them out of the plastic bag I noticed one of the beads was loose already. They cut the fabric short at the top so you have to remove some of the metal bead which usually makes the bead come loose from the fabric.
It is also hard to get the metal pins into the hole, I squeezed them together a little and greased them and now they go in.
Do I start from the top and work my way down? I have thought about applying some black weatherstrip adhesive to the metal and fabric (letting it cure) before I start installing them.
Thanks for ANY help
