Anyway, nothing done, but did take a nice evening cruise on the winding back roads and topped off with Sunoco's 93 on the way home. Was a beautiful day here. Sunshine and in the 70s. I pulled the top off. It drove real well. Might polish my rims tomorrow, I dunno.
Yesterday evening after I finished replacing a rear shift coupler on a customer's 928, my 8 year old daughter and I took a ride in the 93 at her request. We took a ride to Cedar Point and around the area and we had a blast. When we were about home, I noticed that for the trip, I was getting exceptional fuel economy, at 25.5mpg!! The total trip was just over 50 miles and I felt like we did pretty good at that mileage. So, nothing crazy overall, but I thought I would share this morning.
Very cool teaching your boy to drive a stick! I remember many years ago teaching mine to drive a stick on a 1971 C-10!! Should be a requirement for all kids to learn this and how to change oil and a flat tire IMO...

At age 18 I bought my first car, a '59 with the original 3 speed. I didn't know how to drive a stick, but hey, it was a Corvette! My mother patiently gave me pointers on how to drive it. I kept trying to tell her you had to watch the tach, and keep the RPM's up, and all sorts of "knowledge" I thought I knew. Somehow her instructions finally sank in. Thanks Mom!
Have been looking at stained and dirty floor mats for quite a while now, shampooing and vacuuming with poor results... detailing my LT4 readying for our local dealership's annual Corvette gathering i got the idea to run 'em through the washer. I was very surprised and pleased how clean they are. I washed the factory mats with the plastic heel protector and also the mats that cover them. The LT4 mats literally look like new. The LT1 mats are clean and of course show their wear.
Taught my son how to drive stick with her this weekend
Good work, pop. Now do parallel parking. Lol, no just kidding.
Speaking of that, I've seen your car a few times on here but have never really looked very closely at your rims. Those are nice rims and go well with that body setup.

Took my bride in the 92 to get some ice cream and drove up to Skyline Drive this evening.
I know exactly where that is. When I was about 12 years old I spent the summer working in the concession stand that used to be up there. The proprietor ripped me off claiming I ate more food than the money I'd earned so she didn't pay me a dime. Still good memories though.
popped on the final piece of my passenger side interior refresh, the door sill.
the pad had been dirty, distorted and not connected to the plastic backing, and the backing itself was unsecured to the sill and bent upwards. so I heated up the plastic backing w/a hair dryer and held in it's original position overnight w/some weight on it. the pad was then glued to the plastic and held overnight w/para cord. then I found and ordered some #10-24 PAL speednuts I found online and secured the repaired pad to the sill. then scrubbed clean and done. phew!
the upholstery had been replaced under previous ownership, then the next owner hacked up the area around the seat controls { sport seats } to replace/diagnose switches or something. so I pressed down on the switch enclosure, did some material trimming to fit, snugged everything up and secured the material to the enclosure with gorilla glue, and held in place overnight with para cord. came out much improved, but not perfect, and then added new bezels to finish the job. did this on both passenger side switches. the carpet throughout the car had been replaced also, then another previous owner drizzled something under the seats, and generally dirtied-up the new carpet. so the complete pass side carpeting was vacuumed then cleaned w/Maguire's carpet cleaner. came out pretty nice, very close to new. seat switches tested, grounds polished, threaded rod greased. then upholstery cleaned w/soft scrub and rinsed. then the seat back in the car. much better!
added some injector cleaner went for a 65 mile ride today, first one since winter storage. went on some twisty roads i'm familiar with on the Ducati and tried to match the corner speeds. got surprised on one corner, coming in too fast, but the car just stuck it. nice and flat and not a squeal out of the tires. getting impressed with this car.
