Default 2019 Z06 7 SPD - Gear Selection Message?

I have a 2019 Z 7 SPD, 5000 Miles
I changed clutch fluid and a new battery along with other fluid changes
Got a message on my dash - Gear Slipped?
What is this?

I did feel a slight grind between first and second earlier to this
I thought this was my fault, however I now think it might be connected?

Thoughts on both??

I've never heard of or seen a "gear slip" message from a C7.

If your car actually displayed this message I would assume it has to do with gear sensors.

If the car is shifting fine, I wouldn't worry about it, if its not, now you have something to worry about.

I've never heard of a "gear slip" message on a Corvette.

Are you sure it was a Gear SLIPPED, and not a Gear SKIPPED, message?

I've never seen or heard of the former, but the latter is normal behavior for our cars' Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS) system. (It's mentioned on Pg 18 of my 2019 Owner's Manual.)

Thank You So Much for your message
Now that you are asking I am not sure, it may have said skipped
Message came on for a second only
I did try to replicate it and I was not able
Thoughts?
Reminder it is a 7spd and at no point did I use rev match

If the message was Gear SKIPPED, it's working exactly as designed. Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS) was conceived as a fuel economy mechanism by forcing a 1st-to-4th gear shift under light acceleration. It locks out 2nd and 3rd gear at low speed and low throttle, ostensibly to increase fuel economy. (Many, including me, would argue it's "value" is debatable.) Notably, CAGS can be defeated by installing a simple and inexpensive Skip Shift Eliminator harness.

Not sure to what "message" you're referring, but the one I posted happens in M7 cars. It's pictured on an M7 Driver Information Center (DIC), where Pg 18 from my 2019 Owner's Manual clearly states the "1-4 Skip" function happens in "Manual Transmission" cars.

I can't speak to A8s, as I've never owned one.

Good catch. I bet that's it. The message doesn't appear for long so it might be hard to read when you've never seen it before.

Just odd that it's on a manual shift, I've never seen that before on mine.

It's regularly tuned out
it can be turned off via the ECU or a Plug and play harness at the transmission.
Also it will never show up based on how you drive your car. if you drive hard regularly you'll never see it.

Yep, it's because you're driving it right!

The Gear Skipped message only occurs if the car is moving very slowly and the driver isn't aggressive on the throttle. I only see it if I am in heavy traffic that is moving slowly. It can be avoided by shifting from 1st to 2nd below 15 mph or over 19 mph. Shifts from 1st to 2nd when the speed is 15 through 19 mph at light throttle will engage the 1 to 4 shift. Shifting from 1st to 2nd at 10 to 14 mph will not strain the engine on a Corvette.
