Lower Fan shroud clearance issue (new radiator & Support)
Hey everyone…
I’ll start with this:
I recently replaced the radiator with a proper 1959 radiator and radiator support.
The previous lower fan shroud was beat n bent in various ways to allow for fan clearance (bellied out) to allow the fan to have clearance all the way around
When reinstalling the fan and upper Fan shroud I now had clearance issues on the lower fan shroud and my suspicion was it was the wrong fan lower shroud..it was
I have ordered a new proper 1959 lower fan shroud however I now have clearance issues as it hits the bottom and the sides where the two side pieces are connecting to the lower fan shroud
However, I have roughly 3/4” to 1” of clearance on the upper half of the fan shroud so my thoughts are that the engine is sitting too low on the center line (but I know I don’t have a lot of clearance to lift it much because of the air cleaner)
What options do I have that will not overlay be catastrophic intake large amounts of work to correct the issue…?

My first thought is to drill new holes in the shroud but if you are very fortunate you may have badly decayed lower rubber engine mounts allowing the front to drop down. The other fix might be to shim the lower rubber mounts.

Mounts possibly
That was my initial thought was to consider replacing the the motor mounts as they are 30 years old or more from when the engine was put in and the car was restored
