The red rear engine car with the letter "A" on the side and grille is a Japanese Renault Alpine.
Owner is a younger GM engineer, he just picked it up from being repainted yesterday, bought it sight unseen from Japan, had it shipped to NY and went and drove it back from there about 3 years ago.
His Dad has a C1 that he has owned since new but is currently living in GA where the family originally was from.
That definitely would be a "one-of" car these days.
Anybody ever actually see one of these in the wild?
The HR manager at JCI had one when I worked there. I don't remember ever seeing another one on the streets.
My Dad said when he was a kid they used to eat young field corn like sweet corn.

Subaru SVX. It had a weird window within a window arrangement - the outer 20% or 30% of the side window was fixed. The overall shape reminds me of a Ford Probe.
And for my topless C2 and C4 brother out in the PNW, safe travels back for both you and number one son.
Today is National Cherry Tart Day.................................... wonderin' what Ruxxy may do with this one.

Spent some time in the Iowa corn trailer and the guy was saying the same...eating 'baby corn' in the field.
He was also talking about 'peaches and cream' corn, or yellow and white corn.
I was also surprised to see most corn fields were not irrigated.
Well, Fellow Corvette enthusiasts I am officially pissed. Walking up behind my car from down a hill I noticed something hanging under it. Strange says I, I don't normally allow things like that so I look under in from the front and sure enough part of what is called Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector is hanging down. Not just from one side but from both. Not happy.
So I wash the car over the weekend and decide to take a closer look and try to at least cut off the hanging parts while I decide what to do. Lift the front end on the Corvette Ramps I built and get under there. Rubber thing hanging down on both sides. Get the sharp blade up there behind it to cut straight down and instead of cutting it just ZIP and the rest came right off.
What the heck. Do some searching and find that silly rubber part for the best price I can find it is like $80. How did it get torn? I have no idea. If I replace it, is it going to just tear off again? Arrrrr. Is is really required. The opinion is that it improves mileage and also helps with down force starting about 100mph.
Anyone here, and you guys are very knowledgeable, have any suggestions?
Dshammy, I find that little rubber thingy is pretty easy to tear off. Mine scrapes every time I enter or exit my driveway. Yea, $80 seems a bit steep (no pun intended) but just the price I have to pay occasionally.

Mine also drags on my driveway approaches unless I hit the angle perfectly. The GS is worse than my coupe was or the C5 was, I guess because it's a little lower. I don't sweat it since it doesn't drag hard; I keep hoping it will eventually grind itself into self clearance. The lower outer corners of my splitter lightly drag in a couple of places on road dips in our subdivision streets between my house and the main road; I recently discovered it doesn't drag if I have the MRC shocks in Sport mode. I guess mag ride really does work the way it's intended.
According to the forum experts, it should be considered a wear item that occasionally needs to be replaced.
It's a hot and humid week here in the Nation's breadbasket, with no rain in sight. I trimmed my landscape trees and bushes around the house yesterday, then loaded up the push mower and mowed the son's yard. Mid 90s and HUMID, it took me from 8:15-1. Just about got the best of me before I finished mowing.
