Vortech Supercharger Oil

I believe there are some forum posts about this which others have claimed Vortech just uses the Royal Purple ATF and puts their label on it for supercharger oil.
Google says....
AI OverviewThe most popular and chemically equivalent alternative to Vortech V-3 supercharger oil is Mobil Jet Oil II (a synthetic gas turbine engine lubricant). Both fluids share a very similar light, synthetic ester-based viscosity designed to withstand the extreme rotational speeds and thermal loads of supercharger gearboxes.
- Mobil Jet Oil II: Widely recognized in automotive forums as the direct equivalent to Vortech’s proprietary oil. It is typically much cheaper and easier to buy in bulk.
- Royal Purple Synchromax: A high-performance synthetic manual transmission fluid often used as a substitute in self-contained superchargers.
- ACDelco Synthetic Supercharger Oil: While formulated for GM/Eaton superchargers, it serves as an excellent lightweight synthetic alternative in a pinch
.
Can the internal mechanisms, bearings, gears, whatever, in a Vortech V-1 which survives happily on engine oil, be dramatically different than the internals of a self contained unit?
The fact that the lubricant in a self contained unit does not circulate and have an opportunity to 'cool' may be a consideration. Although I am not sure the oil coming from the engine is actually cooler than what the self heating of a selfcontained unit sees. Perhaps it is not that critical.
For the record, I use Vortech supercharger oil. Plus a spoonful of my 'magic powder'. I recently had the supercharger off when I had the engine swapped. The guy that did the swap said my unit was the smoothest spinning he had ever seen.
Where I used to work we would get Mobil synthetic gas turbine engine lubricant delivered in 55 gallon drums, several at a time.
