I recently bought a matte carbon OEM dashboard from a store that was supposedly new, but this is how it arrived:
It’s almost certainly used, but given the wear and tear, I’m wondering if it’s been repaired or if it’s just supposed to look like this on the back. I’m hoping someone on the forum who’s seen one or installed it in their Corvette can help me out.
The dashboard cost around $1,000. I ordered several interior parts that I needed to replace, but they sent me more used parts—even though they assured me they were new—that had obvious signs of wear and scuff marks, but that’s another story. The store is: https://www.gmpartsstore.com/
I bought my CF dash panel (new) from a vendor on eBay. Paid $625 + shipping. FWIW the back of my dash panel did not look as 'unfinished' or rough as this one does.

I cannot find the store online as typed. Can you provide a link?

Do you happen to have any photos of it? To be honest, the finish is really rough.

I've already entered the correct website.
Jorge, you are going to worry yourself to death going back and forth. You have already had several people verify this is how they look. I myself have had two. The first one had a defect on the front side and had to be returned. The second one i installed. I can attest that both looked slightly different in grind marks and finishing in the back. That was 6 years ago. I have never once thought about how bad the rear of it looks since then. If the front side looks good (which yours seems to) just install it and move on. Everytime you drive it you'll admire how good it looks just as i do.

After reading comments from several forum users saying that it was normal, I felt much more at ease and I assume that's the case. Now I'm just curious—don't worry 🙂
If the front looks good just install and start admiring the look! Don’t worry about the back no one is going to see it. Start driving and stop worrying 😎
