I have detailed excel parts lists of all the reengineering Ive had to do. Like the mk60 system so if I ever sell it there is no question what fitting it needs if something blows up. That's always a challenge with heavily modified cars.
Mmm. I started that for this air system, went to paper to better get it in my head, and need to transfer that back accurately to excel now that it's plotted out.
I know people like that, open the garage and it's slam full of clutter. Same people have a storage unit somewhere too full of more junk.
I can't do that. If it doesn't fit in my house or shed I don't need it. Why when the new Apex Wheels go on my Z06 the stock Speedlines are going forsale. Stack of Wheels & Tires hanging out in a corner in a room that I have no use for is something I don't need laying around. I like having what I need, less to maintain.
What pads were on the car? And when was the fluid last replaced?
I might also suggest a slightly more aggressive street pad. My happiest in a C5 was blank discs with a real dirty pad from StopTech a decade ago. Wildcat I think they called it. Recently I'm similarly happy with the Hawk HPS 5.0 which has the faintest squeal, but will stop the car hard when needed.
For comparison when I replaced the StopTech pads I tried carbon ceramics having been told they work well and also won't black out the wheels.
NOPE
If you ever need to panic stop, a carbon ceramic pad offers you maybe 4/5ths of your pedal. You press and then panic press.... But all it is ever going to give you is that weak grab while the car just races towards your death.
I am trying carbon ceramics one more time on Kubs' recommendation. Also because my brakes themselves now have much bigger pad dimensions and swept area than factory. If they work I'll share. But until then I will never recommend ceramics to anyone and I will fully suggest the most aggressive street pad you can tolerate in your range of noise and dirt.
For years I knew if I needed to I could drag the car's nose on a hard enough first hit. That coupe would slam to a stop.
The combo was
Centric high carbon cryo blanks (I'd go DBA now)
Braided lines
Motul RBF660 fluid
StopTech (also defunct now, so I'd got Hawk HPS 5.0)
Last year I put C6 J55 calipers with Doug Rippie pistons, seals, braided lines, DBA Series 4000 rotors with EBC Yellow Stuff pads. Master cylinder was replaced and fluid changed. I noticed when checking trans fluid the rear brakes took way too much foot pressure to stop from just spinning in the air in gear, more than I would use during a moderate to hard stop. I believe the fried EBCM had something to do with it, who knows how the fluid is distributed front to rear when the thing doesn't work at all.
You know, I had grabbed a wildwood proportioning valve a few years ago and kept it in the trunk of the black 99 coupe in case I had to remove the box and flare the lines. I just found it recently.
..Took the Blue Bomber on a 200 mile run today..... had ZZ Top booming with the big subwoofer..... car is a pleasure to drive..... stopped for fuel at Shell and put in V1 91 now that it is under 5 bucks a gallon.... needs to be in the low 3's..... so a question to the C5 AI"s on here..... I don't want the seat memory to work.... I like to set the seat and leave it alone..... how do I shut that off...... also does my 02 have that column lock thingy? Hope not.....
so I been worried the very cool custom vented hood would have rain water flooding in while driving in the rain...... then I got to thinking there is a lot of air moving up out of those louvers...... that would keep the rain from getting in....... so I am going to tie on some of those wind tunnel strings and take it out to see how much air is flowing out of the engine compartment...... it was 90 today and I was going 90 ok 85 to 90 in the show off lane and the engine is running 192 to 194..... so I think it helps cool the engine a bit... or help the radiator be more efficient...... I will let you know the test results....
also does my 02 have that column lock thingy? Hope not.....
My recent posts here with my LMC5 Install are probably the best ever if you have to get in and fix it, then again that's if that car is a 6spd Manual car.
There are certian years of Auto and Manual C5 Cars that had the Column Lock. Pretty much all Manual ones, not all the Auto ones. Have to look it up.

Did you install the J55 calipers on the rear brakes too?
@Huskerman the best solution is to get a Tech2 and reprogram the BCM to a non-memory option package
it's very easy to do, but you need the Tech2
you can also unplug the seat but you'll get a "service vehicle soon" message on the DIC that clears when pressing "reset" on the dash. But every time you start the car, gotta clear the message
