Yeah, I think you did the right thing. Speaking only for myself, I've never cared for the look of em. The C4 looks just fine the way the General made it to look.
It is your car - do what you like - as my Mom would say, “that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla “. In general, I‘m not a big fan of spoilers and wings - up to about 80 mph they predominantly generate drag rather than significant downforce.
This rear wing was part of 49th's Streets Aero's package. Installed around 1996-1997 The package was the M1 front spolier, 49th Streets rockers and the Astor rear wing. With this package with all items installed above 85 MPH the car felt like someone placed their hand on the car and pushed it down. I have only been to 130 MPH with it, but it felt rock solid. I sold the 49th rockers as the Quick-jack required a litte adjustment to raise the car. I stilll have the M1 front spolier and rear wing.
The rear wing is heavy so I used a peice of Aluminum tubing to hold the wing open.

For looks, I don’t like it at all. For function… depends on what problem you’re looking to solve (rear traction on high speed sweepers or ovals perhaps) but one thing is for sure, don’t rely just on the double sided tape. Unless you just like the looks and just drive to Starbucks on the weekends.
I have the shorter version of that spoiler and it’s screwed down, and plan to use a lexan 6-7” plate in the back of it at ~60 degrees, that I can brace with 4 Longacre spoiler strut bars… which then also screws into the meat of the short spoiler. I got it because I can’t seem to leave anything alone, and have delusions of too much power for the Nankang CRS 315 tires.
