HELL NO.. We went with 6 couples down to the Bash from New York.. Over 2300 miles round trip and $533.00 for gas LOL... IT is what it is and loved every mile...
I find it interesting that Corvette folks are buying Costco, Sam's, Racetrack, and even BP gas to save a few cents, ok maybe a few dollars. And these retailers are the absolute worst, even at 93 octane, for selling crap gas. Why do they sell it cheaper than the big boys-with very low detergent levels. Ethanol is bad enough. None of these guys even make the top tier list. I saw a C8 at "Speedy Gas" near our house two days ago. Why? You pay your hard earned buck for a truly bad a-- car and then you feed it with the lowest quality, cheapest fuel out there. No one likes $5 to $6+ a gallon. But if you want to save money on gas then buy a Chevette.......
Buying cheap non top tier gas is like driving your car thru Bubba's Drive Thru Car Wash.............. neither make any sense..
. .
Driving is only a small part........ My green fees are up significantly as maintenance costs on the courses has gone up significantly. Been to the grocery????
A better question would be do you drive your C8 as aggressively as you did just 2 short months ago and at what price will you drive less?
Prices don't appear to be going down according to those in charge for a long time.
With these insane gas prices, has that curtailed using your C8? While not as insane as California, here in S. Florida it just cost me over $70 to fill up my C8. Granted we didn't buy these car for the MPG, but at some point it is going make me think twice about taking my C8 out other than for some pleasure driving. While I use to semi-daily my C8, lately my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid has been seeing much more driving with over 40mpg around town and on regular gas. This past weekend one of the car groups I am in had a Saturday night cruise and the turnout was much less than usual.
At least my Honda is almost the same color as my C8, so that makes me not miss my C8 as much!
no impact at all. If one can afford these cars, the gas is a miscellaneous expense.
My daily driver is a Toyota Tundra, which gets about 16.3 mpg average, so the C8 gets about 50% better mileage, so no, higher prices haven’t changed my driving habits for the Corvette.

Well Costco and BP are on the TopTier list of gas resellers....interestingly enough, when trouble shooting a fuel issue I had early on with my new Z06, one of the Corvette Specialists at Rick Hendrick City Chevy in Charlotte NC specifically called out Racetrack fuel station across from Charlotte Motor Speedway as one of the better places to get fuel....
BP meets top tier but doesn’t have the certification. I always find it funny when someone post you have a $100k car and skimp on gas/ maintenance/ etc.

Yeah I am not sure how all that works. I jus know they are on their official list...ton's of BP stations in NC..
Nope.........Still not higher then when Biden was in office. At least not in my area. My daily gets 32MPG and it's a 10 mile drive to work. Then running around doing errands , I average about a tank every 2 weeks.....
The ZR-1 gets only SHELL 93 and is regulated to weekend duties and maybe drive it to work a few days a month.

If only you had your facts straight. Costco and BP are both Top Tier. Check for yourself: Top Tier Gas Brands
FYI Costco is Top Tier gas. I use it in my DD S8 and previous cars for years, haven't had any issues. Haven't filled up my z06 there yet but I'm not worried.
I agree with most comments that gas prices do not affect my z06 driving one bit. Worth every penny regardless of the price per gallon.

Hmm, your facts are wrong!
1st, Costco has been selling Top Tier Certified gas for years.
In SC like many paces in the USA, we don't have a oil refineries! All gas comes in a pipeline from Gulf Coast Refineries.
All the gasoline companies fill up with the exact same gas they don't have trucks filled with gas coming from the Gulf Coast!
Additives are put in the tank trucks WHEN they fill up with fuel from the Pipeline, two grads in our case 87 and 93 octane.
Most (not all) mix at the pump to make ~89 Octane. Sam's Club in our town ONLY has 87 and 93 Octane. They pump a lot of 93 octane. Key reason I use.
Many delivery trucks have multiple separate tanks and can deliver gas to different locations with different additive levels some Top Tier, some ONLY with the REQUIRED EPA minimum level additive.
ALL gasoline is required by the EPA to have minimum level of cleaning additives.
Top Tier IF the gas company is willing to pay and ongoing fee to maintain Certification has a specific level defined by a performance test.
When DI became a primary fuel delivery used, some gas companies thought the main reason for having Top Tier Certification, "coking" was no longer an issue. They may still have the same additive levels over the EPA Minimum but have decided NOT to pay for Certification.
I researched the level of cleaning additives that make Top Tier. It's about 1 to 1.5 oz/10 gallons, very little: See Side Bar.
SIDEBAR The EPA requires a minimum amount, referred to as "LOA" of cleaning additive in ALL Gasoline. When researching how much different Top Tier was from the required EPA additives what I found mostly "Studies" by folks pushing TOP Tier of "residual left on the back of intake valves comparing TopTier with Non TopTier." That is BS with DI as NO gas passes over the back of intake valves! TopTier started in 2004 before wide use of DI (Corvette started DI in 2014.)
I found TopTier adds about 1 oz/10 gallon (Max 2oz/15 gallons) of gas. I have been using Sam's non Top Tier Certified Gas for 8 years. They only have two grades in town, 87 and 93, no mixing. There is always a line (albeit today with the $4.66/gallon for 93 octane only had to wait one car. I have kept a spreadsheet from my 2014 C7 Z51, 2017 Grand Sport, 2020 C8 and now my E-Ray. I check other prices in town and it can be $0.25 to $-.40/gallon less. We how have Buc-ees in town and checked their price today. It was a about the same as Sams. Many folks use 93 octane, they pump a lot.
I was burned years ago from a station that had several grades and probably sold far less 93 octane. Got a bad tank full! In 8 years NEVER had a bad tank at Sam's! Yep perhaps a 1/2 oz per 10 gallons less cleaning additive. For 8 years I add a 20 OZ bottle of Techron to an 18 gallon tank ~3 times a year. Techron by Chevron was the 1st patented additive that others licenced to make Top Tier. Probably all using their own additives blend today.
I add Techron to help DI Injector cleaning and perhaps some combustion chamber it dpes NOTHING and can't for Coking (carbon backed in the back of hot intake valves.) BUT also to help protect gas gage reading issues a documented probable with Corvettes by folks who always uses Top Tier.
Everyone will do what they think Best. For my DD Corvettes I'll stick what has worked for me!
Don't see those old ads any longer as with DI zero gas passes over the backs of the intake valves so ZERO help to reduce what is called "Coking!"
