Default My list for a new ride is short.....

Plan is to order a new toy this coming winter for spring 27 delivery. The list is short. Contenders are listed in the order I like them:
1. Mustang GT with the premium package and 6 speed manual
2. C8 2LT
3. Toyota Supra 6 speed - not sure if one of these will even be available in 27.
4. Blackwing 6 speed
5. Honda Type R 6 speed

$20K separates the Mustang from the C8 when both are optioned as I like them. And the Blackwing is $20K on top of the C8. Not sure how much I want to spend for a car that will only be driven 6-7 months a year. Don't like the idea of having to pay to flush the transmission of the C8 every 3 years. Insurance is another factor I'll have to research.

We have a 20 Mustang GT 5.0 vert with a 10 speed auto. We like it a lot. Had a 14 Mustang GT with a 5.0 6 speed combo. Great car but the stock shifter was junk. Replaced it with a Barton shifter. So much better. Drive the 6 speed before you buy.

You should add the Integra Type-S if you are considering a Type-R. I love mine - incredible handling, great balance, snick/snick shifter.

Last night was reading the 2027 C8 will have a new engine with 535 hp and 520 tq. This might push the C8 to #1 if forum dealers are still offering nice discounts. Plus the new blue color is one I absolutely love.

I will hand off the Type-S in ~1.5 yrs, next on my list is a '26 eRay or GSX depending on price...if it were me, I'd pick up a leftover eRay

Two front runners are now:
Dark Horse Mustang 6 speed
2027 2LT coupe C8

I have no doubt the C8 is quicker. But this is about the overall driving experience.
Plenty of time to decide.

And I believe per the PO of our 20 Mustang if you buy a Dark Horse you get some kind of track time training? You pay for your expenses to get there but the track time training if free. Don't know what track they used.

We are busy as hell in the next month with a move into our new house and setting up our new RV in the summer camping site. But when I get some free time going to swing by the Ford garage and talk to them about the Dark Horse with the super charger.
Pricey, but I would bet money it is one of those cars that ends up appreciating in value over the next 5/10 years.
Plus at 795 hp it has to be a hoot to drive.

Fully disagree - not a special enough car for any appreciation, especially in that timeframe.

Ehh mustangs seem to hold a ridiculous price point compared to other cars of their caliber if you ask me. Least the special models.

I agree. There's nothing special about a Dark Horse.

Unless you're comparing it to any other pony car at the present....but yes I agree I hate the name and even don't like the dark horse logo but its a pretty nice ride..I'd likely get the GT premium over it though...

My 2021 Mach 1 sold for 54k new. Current Carvana offer is 45.5 k. Not bad depreciation for the car.

Agreed, though no appreciation as Snowwolfe suggested - and in your case the Mach 1 is at least a nameplate the Mustang faithful recognize historically - can't say the same for the Dark Horse.

Supra with 3 pedals is really tempting.
