This job is not for wimps. Ha when i did mine i would heat the oven to about 300 then turn it off and put the light in wait 10 to 15 min pull the light and dig out gray sealant. It would only come out about 1/4 to /1/2" at a time. after about 10 min. the light would cool enough that the sealant was back to being hard as a rock. More then once while digging out the sealant I thought about ordering new lights but i stuck it out and now they look like brand new headlight. Hang in there like most things it will get worse before it gets better but you will have the satisfaction of a job well done.
i notice i dont have the 3 studs holding the inner shield, mine has bolts. i did a test fit and it looks like i may have hard time starting at least 1 bolt when i assemble. Any tricks
The current aftermarket gaskets do just fine. The old RL gaskets were generally only good on his lenses. The only really amazing gaskets were made by the factory (truly they were the best part of the lenses) but they are long since discontinued AFAIK.

You mean the inner trim - the one that most people paint and/or remove the chrome bezels.
The ONLY way if you have a nut that is freely moving without tension is to cut the nut off and carefully reset the stud insert. If you don't do that, you can generally - carefully - snap it off, usually it doesn't damage anything visible in the trim but it does mean you will have only 2 mount points to secure the trim (also not really a big deal)

Ya,the body color trim . instead of three studs with nuts , mine were bolts. I got one assembly done and getting all three bolts started was ok.
I heated up the assembly with the tape/sealer in place to soften the tape , and then removed from oven and pushed the lens on. I didnt put it back in oven with new lens installed as it seem to go together ok

You have to do that, you have to put the lens onto the headlight, heat it up, then press it, then heat it up again and press it again to finish it.
I didn't remove the headlamp to retry sealing it, and its been wet and damp here for a few days and i see no more moisture. Next test is a car wash to see if it possibly sealed

also a good idea to add a little butyl once you reopen them in little areas where the fogging may be most prevalent
Well i didnt remove the lens cover last summer to try and reseal as the foggy issue seem to had went away. BUT now this year this is what i got. 1 week ago they were fine and now this. JUNK aftermarket crap.

ebay seller donalblat-0 and he says lifetime warranty. I sent him a message. They were made in P.R. according to what lens says.
I know a few people in my area that have used his and they have held up good.. I might of accidently used my super duty glass cleaner on them- maybe
