Default Northern VA - best dealerships for Service?

For those that live in Northern VA, what dealership(s) have you had good experiences with that you would recommend for Service?

Thanks in advance.

I've taken mine up to Criswell, in Gaithersburg, where I bought it. But I know several people who are happy with Pohanka, in Chantilly.

I do the same and hike mine up to Criswell also. Don't like the distance but it is worth it.

I do not like Pohanka as they always pushed all usual unnecessary dealer services on me when I took the daily driver there. The last straw was when I took it in for a 30,000 mile service which was basically oil, and and and cabin filter changes (probably lube the door hinges and stuff as well), and they pushed a list of uncalled for crap for over $800 that pohanka lists as the service. I took out the GM service schedule and said I want these items, no more and no less. When I checked out, they had entered on the ticket, which I believe is visible to all GM dealers "Customer refused 30,000 mile service" when I in fact had done just that. Haven't stepped in that place since.

I've been satisfied with Koons at Tysons for routine service on my Stingray.

I have 8 Corvettes and I use Pohanka in Chantilly for all of the services they require. Donnie the Vette tech there is outstanding. My service writer is Terry Doyle. Both are great!

Thanks for the info. They are one of the closest dealerships to me so it would be convenient, however, info like you provided is certainly part of the consideration.

Thanks to All that have commented and provided info so far. I see most of the comments recommend going to Criswell and I definately agree with that. The thing is, Criswell isn't really close to me which is why I was inquiring about dealerships that are closer as a possibility, however, if there aren't a lot of other suggested options then going the distance it will be.

Wow, sounds like you have had a lot of experience at/with Pohanka since you have 8 Vettes. Thanks for the info and for the contacts. It is always good to have the POC info to get started off with the right people.

My '06 C6 A/C was not cooling properly so I took it to Ourisman Chevrolet in Alexandria, VA. They wanted to replace the compressor and several related valves and a cabin filter ($2521), oil change ($135), 4 new tires ($1522) and a wheel alignment ($300). They also said the oil pan was leaking ($1131). I was immediately distrustful because of the piling on of work and because there are absolutely no oil drips in my garage spot where I've been parking the car for over a year.

I had heard that Page Chevrolet, also in Alexandria did good Corvette work. I called them and asked how much installing a new compressor would be and they quoted $1800. So I picked up my car from Ourisman ($138 diagnostic fee) and took it to Page.

Page called me the next day and said they needed to evacuate and recharge the A/C ($230). I told them to go ahead with the work and I picked the car up that afternoon. The A/C is now working as it should.

This is very upsetting to me that Ourisman would tell me the compressor was bad when it wasn't and the oil pan was leaking when it wasn't and the oil change was not called for by the dash readout for oil life. And they piled on a bunch of stuff that was't really called for.

I will never visit that Ourisman again or any of their dealerships. I suggest you do the same.

Page Chevrolet in Alexandria has done a good job with my C6Z in the past. Ask for John McGhee (tech); he owns a C6Z himself, and is a great mechanic.

Experience at Pohanka has been mixed. If you ever have wheel/tire issues, stay away from the stealerships and go to The Tire Shop in Leesburg. Great experience with them for that sort of thing. As the tech said- "Who do you think all the dealerships bring their Vettes to when they can't figure it out,"

I wanted to resurrect this old thread from the past to see if anyone has any current recommendations for C8 Corvette service in the Norther Virginia area. Latest thoughts? Recommendations?

I know people who have been happy with service at Bomnin in Manassas, but also people who have been very unhappy and swear they'll never return. For simple things Pohanka seems to be fine (they sponsor one of the clubs I'm in), but I know at least two people with DCT issues who went there and found them clueless. Pohanka's tech is VERY experienced (e.g., been doing this a long time = old) but the new generation seems to be outside of his level of experience or comfort.
Haven't heard anything about Ted Britt in Sterling (they sponsor the other club I'm in) regarding C8s, but some C6 & C7 owners I know reported varying experiences, som good, some not so good.

For anything more complicated than an oil change, I'll still take mine to Criswell. Only about 40 minutes away and worth the trip to me.
