Default C7 canvas convertible top

Could anyone recommend a proper way to bring back the black color to my 2014 z51 convertible top? It’s in good shape but faded in spots and I would like some advice before I use anything.

It can be dyed DIY or use a detailer.

Clean it first with Raggtopp and a soft bristle brush.

I used ragtop to clean and condition it, now I’m looking to restore the black color. I thought of using old school black shoe polish. Thoughts?

Dont use that.

It is the wrong product. Fabric dye is the correct product if recoloring. If you use shoe polish, it will end up a blotchy mess.

Thank you. Can you recommend a fabric dye that works best?

Ragtops Fabric Protection will even it out somewhat. A few coats added after the first dries will do more.

If it is beyond that, I would take it to a professional detailing shop. The top is a very large part of the car, which you will notice every time you walk up to it. Why take a chance? jmho

Clean the top but do not use protectant on it until the dye job is done to your satisfaction.

The dye won't penetrate and cover evenly if protected.

I use Tide to clean my tops. Highly controversial , but I have just under 400,000 mi. on Verts. It works without the Corvette tax.

Eta: i do not have 4 mil mi on Verts.
