In the market for a C6 Z06 and stumbled on this today: https://hotrides.com/2008-chevrolet-...-75006/7489176. Talked to the dealership and they have no actual paperwork on the parts listed (looking at the Carfax, this was bought via auction). I have a PPI scheduled, but heard hit or miss reviews on Texas Hot Rides on Google Reviews and the forums. I'm out of state, so want to get the best sense of the car as possible before making a final decision. I got a few pictures from the dealer and a video and it seems relatively clean, I can see the ramair intake and headers look to be stock as well. Would appreciate any advice ya'll have as I'm new to the Corvette world and want to make a solid purchase. Thanks!
It boils down to your risk level. Could they have lied? Yes. Could they have been lied to by the seller? Absolutely.
I'd call AHP and see if they can check their records and see if maybe they sold heads to that VIN? Probably won't have records tying it back and who knows if they even bought AHP heads but maybe you'll get lucky.
If not, you basically have to decide if you want to take the risk. If you can verify it does have an axle back you know at least some of it is true.

agree - it’s a risk without the paperwork and have heard hit or miss things about the dealer.
VA emissions (only required on nova) is pretty much just plugging into the obd2 and ensuring the I/M readiness monitors are ready (can pass with one not ready)
the video they sent me clearly shows the car is cammed and has some axleback.
Shoot me an email with the vin number and if you know the full name of the person who purchased the heads from us I will run them through our system and see what comes back.
In house jobs we code by vin number and customer name. Stuff we ship out just gets coded by the name of who purchased it from me.
Email me though, not call. We are currently so slammed we stopped answering the phone all together and just work via email and sometimes Text message. But email is by far the fastest and best way to communicate with us. HP@americanheritageperformance.com

I personally would want a completely stock car to start with but if AHP did the head work & you want a cammed car, go look at it in person, it's your money

I did get a response from AHP and they can't find the VIN in their database atleast - so no smoking gun there. I don't disagree with you either on getting a stock car and personally being the one to get the heads fixed to have all the receipts. It's definitely a gamble just going off the dealerships word as their only incentive is to sell the car and make money. I'm also continuing to look at the classifieds section of the site to see if I can just buy a sorted out Z06 from a private seller who has all the documentation.
Got the PPI results back and going to pass on the car, while it's not bad there are some interesting things done such as the EVAP system is deleted, wiring harnesses and brackets are not in the correct spot, poor job muffler delete, and no way to verify if the heads have been done (stock casting). The search continues
