I’ve had moments like that and it’s very frustrating but one time it wasn’t my fault. I was changing oil in my first Corvette out in my driveway. That was long before I built my shop. I was under the car and had drained the oil out and was feeling around for the box that the oil filter was in and I could not feel the box anywhere. I went in the house three different times and looked in my utility room and other parts of the house, thinking that I had not taken the oil filter out to the car. I was asking family members if they had seen it. Finally, I remembered that the Neighbor’s dog had a very bad habit of picking up loose items (gloves, boots) on our porches and even in our yard and taking them to her yard. Sure enough, as I approached the neighbor’s backyard, I could see the oil filter box. Fortunately, the oil filter was still inside.

It's a more plausible explanation than someone entering the house and stealing it while leaving the empty box, and not stealing anything else.

yeah there's basically no chance in hell somebody stole some random specialty item that would be hard to sell fast rather than stuff like laptops

he'll find it a year from now in a corner somewhere

Hey OP, this isn't ADHD...it's, it's, shoot, forgot what I was going to write. Let me ask the neighbor, or my dog if he knows what I was thinking.

😂😂😂 I'm sort of scared that if I order another one as soon as I do that, the missing one will show up. Story of an ADHD person's life 😂

If a friend or brother is messing with me, that's unforgivable. 😂

Definitely a happy ending. I hope I have a happy ending to this dilemma.
