Default 2026 Z06 Iron brakes to Carbon brakes question...

Is it possible to put OEM carbon ceramic rotors and pads on a 2026 Z06 with iron brakes and use the original calipers?

Thanks.

The part numbers are different for the calipers for w/CCB and w/out CCB. I could be wrong, but I believe the actual caliper spec is different as the CCBs are designed to operate at a much higher temp. I know originally on the C6 ZR1, even the hubs were different to handle the higher heat. I believe there also might be a difference in the MagRide calibration due to the unsprung weight difference between CCB and iron-rotor brakes.

The caliper size is different. You need the CCB calipers. They're usually cheap, though, especially if you can find them on RockAuto, etc.

No as others have said the calipers are different as the rotors are a different thickness. A much cheaper alternative is to get the conversion kit from Competition Carbon which uses the stock calipers for iron disks, but replaces the rotors and pads. The rotors are the more modern gen 3 materials that come with the ZR1 brakes (or if you get stock CCB calipers redone with Rebrake). So will wear better anyway.

I wish it was simpler to replace. There is zero brake dust on my ZR1. The only regret I have is getting the iron rotors on my Z06.

How’s the stopping power? Diminished over stock? I went with Powerstop low dust pads and like the low dust, but think there’s a loss in performance.

I had the Carbotech pads and the stopping power was awesome. But they will fade so for hitting the canyons or something you would want to swap back to a better pad. But for regular street driving they were great.
