It has the day/night mirror, but it has 4 taillights.
I'm looking over this schematic and I see the back up light wiring on pages 1, 2 and 4. It looks like the Black and light green wires that go to the back up lights just go thru the standard bulkhead connector, but the body connector only has the black and light green wires if the car has back up lights.
I need to order a dash wiring harness, and need to choose between the with or without back up light harness. I want to replace the harness with the same type that came with the car.
If the car came with back up lights, someone would have wired the additional lights outside of the wiring harness - and the harness with back up lights should work with my existing setup. If the car did not have back up lights and I order the back up light harness then my setup would not work.
Should there be a switch on the shifter or transmission to activate the back up lights?
So - what is the best way to determine which harness is currently in the car? Check the wires coming out of the body connector, or ???
Gary - I believe both my 65's originally had BU Lights. Both had been converted to 'All-4 Red Brakelights' before I got them and I kept them that way, because I like having 4 versus 2 red brakelights.
There's an 'L' shaped connector at the firewall, drivers side of the distributor that is normally used for 65s with Backup Lights. Pics are from both my 65s, but wire colors are off due to years of
previous owners spray painting the engine compartment.

This pic shows it is in the harness that comes through the large rubber grommet and the twin connector for BU Lights should show itself just inches from where the main bundle emerges...if yours had BU lights.

Thanks again Mike. That is very helpful. It's hard to get a good picture of that harness at the bulkhead. This is the best one I got. I do not have that connector, but I have two wires that have been cut off.
I can't see the color on one of the cutoff wires, the other is black.
I pulled the drivers side kick panel to look at wire colors, but they are still all taped up. I pulled the body connector down from the Z bar and got a good look at it.
If I'm reading the schematic correctly, this is the with back up lights body harness. There is only one empty socket in the connector, and the last wire shows black and light green.
Whew. That took way too long to figure out, but I'm comfortable ordering the wiring harness now.
Thanks again to everyone on this forum for your help.
