Who tints windows on the outside Grand Slam?
I tried it OP. Have 5% all around and had 35 on the windshield. As mentioned, the hud was ok, but obstruction sucked after the sun went down. I removed the windshield tint
Nothing to do with HUD, but I had a 6" band of 30% across the top of the windshield when I got the car and tried to get used to it. It lasted about 1 year. Just kept bugging me... On another note, it is most likely illegal to tint windshields in CA. My son got a ticket for front side windows being too dark. Check first or you could be 1) wasting money, and/or 2) providing probable cause for getting pulled over.

Yes, it is illegal to tint the windshield in Calif. And the side windows have to pass 70% of light (max 30% tint). No restrictions on back or rear windows. Different states, different rules.

30% tint is blocking 70% of light, versus passing it. Most tint-unfriendly states allow no darker than 70% tint on front windows.
