really? **** ton of magnets to help keep the lifters up?
You know how they sit in the Engine I take it?
Two full spins of the Cam, out with the old in with the new. How I've done them.
That was the one cool thing when I had an LSX Block build. You pull the Intake, you pull the Lifter Valley Cover, unbolt the Lifter Retainers and you could literally take every Lifter out of it.
Rockers backed off and Pushrods removed of course. Pretty slick thing you could do with one of them.
We have developed a very healthy disconnect with the mother in law since his passing (he apparently kept her under control) so I am not in a position to inquire as to his unit, but I know my wife's father flew gunships I believe in 71-72 or there about. He flew B models because he referenced hovering over the elephant grass an a dude in pajamas popped up with an AK to aim at him.... He could not yaw the guns in time to line up with the guy so he yawed left slightly instead and used his own sawed off M79 with self made honeycomb round and shot him from his lap in the Huey. He later broke a Major's jaw and was found not guilty but still stripped of rank (as was the major, who promptly lost his life two weeks back into service) and Bill ended up flying and gunning in Cobras. He saved multiple crews over time and was himself shot down on three occasions. One time his pilot died and he had only a handgun. He survived three days deep in the jungle, used the gun, used the enemy's gun, ran entirely out of ammo, ended up using his knife before he got out. That says everything I ever needed to know about Bill.
His wife is former army intel from the same era when women were not common. She's tough as nails too, just likes to hurt those close to her. Bill would never do so to family, though when he got back and restored an Indian sidecar bike which was stolen by the local Diablo chapter, he and a friend rolled grenades in their clubhouse in and under their bikes in Meriden and then in the larger chapter house in Massachusetts.
@bearone2 the world is often smaller than we think, so on the off chance.... Did you ever encounter a William (Bill) Stewart Palmer from CT and Maine? Tall skinny strong dude who loved the outdoors and a giddy dark sense of humor when it came to dispatching the enemy.
Edit: I asked my dad and he confirmed Bill was there in 71 and flew out of Cam Ranh Bay.
Love the peace sticker on your helmet. Hope they let you take it home…

I've seen the pictures they look great. My rear wheels are on the way the front wheels seem to have been pushed from May to July for unknown reason. I'm sure they'll be awesome when they get here, it's a matter of getting here.
