Ok, OK!!!
This is the heater control valve that has given some people issues with the Generation IV VA system.
Apparently they are using this same valve in the Generation V systems however the valve is now exercised every time the car is started and not just when you turn on the heater.
VA says they haven’t seen any failures with the valves in the Gen V systems.
Earlier revisions of this valve were the cause of failures and were discussed in several older threads.
Today I installed the new Red Horse Performance manual heater bypass valve, I made up and installed the braided heater hoses.
I was able to hide the new valve under the other heater line that comes through the firewall.
Depending on where you live, it is possible.
So Cal you need ac all year.
Nor Cal we have four seasons, although spring and fall may only last a week or two between summer heat of over 100 and winter cold into the 40’s and 50’s.
You can actually surf in the morning at the beach and then be in the mountains snow skiing in the afternoon.
This should confirm my OCD and how you probably all think I’m nuts.
After I changed out all the hoses in the engine bay from RedHorse Performance rubber to steel braid, I stood back and did not like the look at all.
Steel braid is nice and I’ve used it in many other builds but it’s not the look I’m going for this time.
So I removed all the steel braided hose and replaced them with the RedHorse hoses.

This is the valve that I replaced my systems original solenoid style unit with, the solenoid style when operated got extremely hot, not really an issue if its in the engine bay i guess but I have it located under the dash. I will keep an eye on it, but I haven't noticed any noticeable power draw, then again I generally use my kill switch when the car is sitting.
Cant argue with your decision, she looks beautiful!!
Thanks!
Thats and older picture showing the rubber hoses since then I’ve moved the fuel pressure regulator off the firewall and attached it to the end of the fuel rail so the one braided line going to the firewall has also been deleted.
I received the correct ac hard lines from Vintage Air.
I installed the lines and the drier so now I can order the upgraded reduced barrier hoses and necessary fittings.
