Sounds like another dealer run around, sorry to hear that. What is your budget and what exactly are you looking for as far as year, color, options?

Yeah.....three cancelled deliver days over a 2 week period due to "driver" issues. Was going to a gun show in Tulsa, which is about 60 miles from this dealer. Dropped by unannounced and asked to see the car. Different salesman cheerfully took me back and showed me the car up on a rack...exhaust dropped and transmission on stand. Changing clutch...clutch chattering on 12k car.

Keeping an open mind for what the market bears. Lest favorite color is Red......Blue and Metallic Red at the top.......Black, White and Turquoise in the middle. No more than low 20s.

I have seen clutches stick due to sitting and it may have not wanted to come lose. Why don't you want a car with a brand new clutch? You already struck a deal correct?
Ps a dark red 90 in So. Florida with like 600mi. It is on e-bay.

I just made offer that if he met me half way on Sunday the 25th I would buy the car if as described (which was no mechanical issues). I called him Sunday morning and he said he had family issues and could not meet. Apologized and said he would have car delivered the following week. If I liked it, I would write a check. If not it would go back. I called the following Thursday. He apologized and said had driver issues. He promised the car would be delivered following Tuesday. I arranged to work from home Tuesday. Called at 11:00 to see what time driver left. No delivery. Drop by dealership 3 days later...car is on rack...exhaust and parts on the floor...no one working on it. Had they been honest, I may have hung in there with them. Really was no reason to lie about driver issues.

It’s unfortunate you got the run around but if you have money in hand and are ready to buy a car you’re in the best spot. Just start looking for the right car and go from there. I wouldn’t buy the car in question regardless of how much they came down on the price. There are plenty of cars out there, just wait for the right car to come along.

Keep in mind, just because it’s a low mile car doesn’t mean it’s a “new” car, it’s still a 23-28 year old car. It can have a multitude of issues. Half the time these guys that have had them stored don’t even know what’s wrong. Not sure if you’ve seen this but here’s a good example.

Best of luck on your search. There are plenty out there to choose from.

Absolutely. To me condition and previous care are more important than mileage.
I had a #343 back in 2004 and had no issues with it other than replacing vacuum lines under plenum. It only had 13k when I bought it, but was only 14 years old.
I'm not buying as an "investment" by any means, but I'm not rich...have to buy these old cars right in order to keep playing with them. Cant afford a 20k bargain that costs me 6k in repairs the first year.

what colour is this zr1? And it sure seems cheap for a 60.000$ plus car in 1990! By today's money that's over 110.000$. Your talking 20 grand for such a low mileage car? That's a steal!!!

One would want to verify they're not already compromised. And, then...be sure travels don't take one where (e.g., Illinois/E-10) alcohol blend is the norm.
Might as well consider new injectors from the beginning. They're certainly easy enough to DIY for anyone with simple mechanic tools/skills.

After dealing with two questionable sellers, bought a low mileage '91 (6500 miles) from an honest seller. Car already has new injectors, pumps, and tires. Put a couple hunred enjoyable miles on it in the last week.

Bought my 91 10 years ago with same miles for about $1000 more so it is nice to see prices up somewhat.
