Horn HONKS when I unlock

Horn HONKS when I unlock
How in the world do I turn this obnoxious function off. This is something new. Probably started after I replaced the battery. This isn’t a short beep. It is a full on HONK!

The horn should not sound at all when unlocking the car. That isn't even an option. Only when locking can you set it to sound the horn or not.
When this happens how do you get it to stop?
Also, no settings are lost when the battery is disconnected.

Stupid horn
The horn sounds full on for about a second and a half then stops. It sounds both if I unlock with the fob and/or with the door handle only. I’ve had the car since new and this behavior is recent.

My 08Z did that a couple of times a few weeks ago and has not done it since. I was really embarrassing......nothing like going to unlock your car and a girl walks by and your horn goes off, as if to say look at me, this happened twice. I couldn't find anything in the settings that would have caused it, just glad it stopped.

There's the problem right there.... You let your wife drive it.. It has to be her fault.
Lucky you! It is driving me absolutely nuts. Last week my wife brought it in for its annual inspection. Like something out of Benny Hill, when the mechanic opened the door, the horn sounded causing the mechanic in the next bay to jump and smack his head on the hood of the car he was working on!

dude.. you are the one who posted "asking" for help... ? Members are offering suggestions.. Run through the DIC and disable "Alert" options. Pretty simple. So simple even your wife can do it....

Its a suggestion to try as this is clearly not a normal thing to happen. Not the word of Gods.

Gee Sherlock Holmes, how did you get to be so smart.... We were saying to change them anyhow. There could be a problem with the BCM causing this. Maybe if he shuts all of the alerts off it will stop the horn.

To me it sounds like a short...might need to get a wiring diagram. If it was me, I'd be experimenting by pulling one fuse (or relay) at a a time here and there to see if makes a difference in sounding the horn. Fuses/relays of circuits that are activated by unlocking the vehicle, whether it be by the fob or door latch (lights, door switch, etc.) Maybe one of those is in close proximity to the horn relay. Could be something jumpering in the fuse block...just my first thought.
