This is a pic of the engine removed and put on engine stand to remove the snapped damper install tool. I bought the engine stand back in 1999 when, with the help of a neighbor who was a retired master mechanic, I rebuilt the very tired L48. This 2013 project involved more 'while I'm at it...' tool and parts purchases (some not yet installed) than perhaps ANY prior project I performed on the vette. From valve spring compressors, cam install tool, tap/die set, cherry picker (was on my list FOREVER), new rolling tool chest (pictured), Damper and crank gear install/puller tools, pushrod length checker, etc. Was a lot of fun. Now, I just need to sell a few parts that I bought but did not install.
